Have you checked the fault codes? it sounds like you may have a wiring fault, or even a faulty throttle body, you really need a wiring diagram to help sort this one out, i think the good luck.

Toyota previa engine problem.

If its in "limp mode" then its most likely in the transmission. It could possibly be the mass air flow sensor.

You may have to have your ******/computer ran for any codes to give you a better idea of why it is limp mode. There are many causes of limp mode. A sensor or solenoid or bad wire will send the computer into limp mode. The TPS and map sensor both can affect limp mode

My 2001 525td starts and drives ok but intermittently it wont go above 3000 rpm,if you stop and switch it off it goes ok again for a short while

HI, your car is most likely going into limp mode. The number one cause of this computer shut down restriction- is a Mass-Air Flow sensor malfunction. Fuel trims become erratic and the engine computer puts a order in to limit performance until the original problem is resolved. The fact that you can get performance back after shutting down car and restarting is that the computer is rebooting and most likely the sensor is now functioning properly and or has not set the number of faults required for limp mode. What I would do is have someone with a scanner look for DTC's or engine problem codes, and remember the following: Lean or Rich fuel trims detected bank 1 bank 2 (is a Mass Air flow problem)Replace Mass Air flow sensor assembly. Accelerator position high or low and or erratic is most likely (Pedal sensor) Replace Pedal assembly. Good Luck.

2001 passat 1.8 car starts fine but has no power and when you push on accelerator pedal and hold it steady the rpms will rise another 1000 rpms or so.fuel pump and regulator check out fine.

APP sensor went to limp home mode. The APP or throttle control uses to angle sensor when one sensor does not report it goes to limp home mode. The ECM cross checks the throttle angle so one is off. The late module assembly that is used is mounted to the floorand was more damage from spilled drinks. some where water damage the majority where coffe damage.go to the floor pedal position gain acces to the connector the inside connector may be contaminated,if you decide to clean it youll need a electrical cleaner clean the inside connectors, with the engine off.

Why when i push the gas on my 2004 trailblazer it wont speed up

Your SUV has an electronic throttle body. Unlike the other type which is driven by cable, this relies on multiple sensors in the gas pedal and multiple sensors in the throttle body. If one or more of the sensors don't agree (i.e: one sensor says you're at 80% it while another says 40% throttle) then it goes in to a default mode or "limp home" mode. It basically makes you take it to be repaired because it is unsafe to be driven.
