SOURCE: brake lights don't work - 2003 toyota corolla

Is there power to the bre light switch, a 12 volt test light works gret for this test, they are cgeap and avail at any parts store. If the switch has power in and out when the brake pedal is pressed then the turn signal/multifunction switch is most likely the problem.

Sounds like the brake light switch on the pedal is out of adjustment.

Lok in the trunk on the left side, behind the carpet for a small plastic box with a bunch of wires going to it. Look to see if there is brake light powe coming in with the pedal depressed. If so, and no power is coming out, you need to order and replace the "taillamp failure sensor".

SOURCE: 1989 Toyota Camry. No brake lights.

It could be the relay, which is a yellow box located under the carpeting in the trunk on the left side. It is a problem common to your model. Also, check the brake switch's (behind the brake pedal) functionality (12V present with key at ACC or ON and continuity between wires when button engaged).

i hope this helps

SOURCE: Tail lights when lights are

SOME TOYOTAS, HAVE FUSES THAT ARE HIDDEN. ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DASH THERE IS A LITTLE PULLOUT TRAY IT MAY BE LABELED "STORAGE ONLY" IF IS LIKE THAT GET A FLASHLIGHT & LOOK BEHIND IT YOU MAY SEE FUSES BACK THERE. OTHERWISE, THE TAIL LIGHT FUSE HAS TO BE IN THE PASSENGER FUSEBOX OR UNDER THE HOOD IN THE FUSE/RELAY BOX.

Brake lights wont come on. What could be the issue ?

Could be a fuse or the switch. Is it all three brake lights? If so, check the fuse. The fuse box is likely located by your left leg on the drivers side, but check the manual for the exact location. There is a list of the fuses and a picture to tell you which one it is. Pull it out and look through the plastic. Is the metal broken? Is so, replace it. If the fuse is good, check the switch. Where the brake pedal makes contact with the floor there is a button that gets pressed. Remove that button/switch assembly and use a multimeter to test it.

My 1990 geo prizm brake light comes on when I start to stop and turns off when I stop

You need to replace the brake light switch, it is located above the brake pedal and is actuated by the brake pedal arm.

Breaks lights don't work

Here are some things to check:-

1 The brake light switch
2 The fuse for the brake lights
3 The bulbs for the brake lights
4 The bulb contacts in the brake lights
5 The earth connections in the rear light clusters
6 Generally check for loose or broken wires in the vucinity of the brake light switch and the rear light clusters.

Where is the brake switch located on a 1990 geo prizm?

Brake Light Switch The brake light switch is located at the top of the pedal arm. It is the switch which turns the brake lights on when the brakes are applied. The plunger type switch is held in the off position by the normal position of the brake pedal; when the pedal moves during brake application, the switch plunger moves forward and the brake lights are brought on. The switch is almost always the first place to look for the cause of the brake lights flickering over bumps or staying on without use of the brakes. If the brake lights fail to work with the brakes applied, check the fuse first and then check the switch.

The dash light dont work? in my 90 toyota pickup 4x4

if your dash lights don't work, it could be a fuse in the fuse panel located under the driverside dash board. be aware that if it is the fuse, you also wont have any tail lights either when you turn your lights on. Just brake lights.
