It is extremely common for questions to be posted here with incomplete or no detail, or to be posted in altogether the wrong category.

Now I'm not saying you did that (you specified the vehicle), but
I looked up your posted problems, and the one about the dome light in your Chevy Silverado originally contained NO INFORMATION that the door switches had been checked OK. So how was Jason to know? He had to make his best analysis based on what little you told us.

Then you went on to say we at Fixya are a bunch of dummies. I take exception to that, as I think would several others, being quite experienced and with a good education. If you want to be rude, I'd invite you to take your queries elsewhere, we will not miss you.

The vast majority of people here are genuinely trying to help, but as in life there are always those who think it funny to act like the flies round a horses rear end and just annoy you.

I believe it was the other way around in this case. Some people have an enormous sense of entitlement.

Lights come on buzzers come on everthing works but it wont start

Is there a question there? Very vague... Did you try turning the key?
Please note that you didn't specify what is happening when you try to start the vehicle, so it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to help you troubleshoot.
Please provide greater detail on what happens when you try to start the vehicle, so that someone can answer your question.

What oil is used for 1997 ford explorer

Factory says 5W-30.
You can do better with Walmart's full synthetic 5W-30 with a filter and oil change every 5 - 6,000 miles.
Just keep an eye on oil level - the V8 version of this vehicle does use oil after about 120,000 miles. The 6 is a bit better until about 150,000 miles.
