There is you have to locate it depending on it being standard or automatic a neutral safety switch is a switch the creates a loop when in park or neutral (might be found on shifter or trans side) on standards they are usually on the clutch pedal engine won't crank until either in park or neutral or when clutch pedal is depressed find switch and unplug it and jump wires bypassing switch keeping the circuit closed and engine should crank over while in gear with no clutch or in any gear p r n d 1 2 ect wouldn't recommend doing this however not sure why you looking to bypass this switch but can be dangerous especially in standard vehicles reaching into the vehicle to start it forgetting its in gear it could start a take off or crank and not start but lurching forward or backward

How to Bypass the Neutral safety switch on a 1964 corvette?

neutral switch or park switch
which switch is the problem
check the wiring for the two
go to a wreckers /junk yard with the switch in your hand and get a replacement unit as the switch is generic and nor gm specific so any switch that has adaptable mounting will do the job

Bypass neutral safety switch grand am

I would first want a refund from that dealer.
Yes it could be the neutral safety switch. You could try cranking it in neutral, or bypass that switch. Could also be something with the anti-theft system if the security light is flashing.

I gotr a 98- 4L60E trans in limp mode & want to bypass neutral saftey switch. Can you help?

Bypassing the neutral safety switch won't help with the transmission problem. That switch is only wired into the start circuit.
Scan the computer for trouble codes. Has to be a code if it is in limp-in mode.

My 2001 porsche boxter S 3.2 will not start in park, but will start normally in neutral, does anyone know why? (it's an automatic)

1.Shifter linkage could be out of adjustment, and not allowing the Neutral safety switch to be bypassed, when in the Park position.

The shift linkage, could move the arm of the neutral safety switch far enough, to bypass it when the shifter is in Neutral, but not far enough when the shifter is in Park.

2.Perhaps the Neutral safety switch is bad, or has come loose on it's mount, and is out of position.
