If the transmission in your truck is a 700 r4 The kickdown cable is actually a vacuum cable and if not properly adjusted the vehicle will not shift

Their are a few possible causes of this. One their is not enough tranny fluid in it or the kick down cable is not hooked up properly. the kick down cable also runs the vacume to the transmission.

That was a good suggestion by Molson. Also, if you have been doing a lot of heavy hauling, have them check the strainer, which could be a problem as well.
