How to install a magnetige pick on a 1997 holden v6

we dont have holden here, but the FSM on all cars cover that.
buy one?
the CKP sensor "crank position sensor" is found in 3 places on all engines.
(bolts to front of engine Front means below front at crank pully)
others are at flywheel
and some are in the center of engine, near impossible to remove.
so lets use google, (its best value if ever and search)
the best way to search is to know what engine, and V6 is not that.
its here.
An overhauled Ecotec (Emissions and Consumption Optimisation through TEChnology) version of the Buick V6 engine
so its and Ecotec, we narrow the field. (research 101)
but which one. ?
1997 holden when a little nuts, with opel parts, etc. very hard to track.
ok here it is series II
OMG a number the engine is and L36, wow.

our V6 is here L36
first google hit L36

http://www.gmforum.com/1992-1999-91/dtc-p0336-crankshaft-position-ckp-sensor-circuit-229719/

cant say for holden.
but look , see it?

better , post symptoms... far better than wild guessing.

How do I know which 3.8 is in my 1984 El Camio 229 or 231?

3.8L (229 CID)The 229 cid (3,751 cc) engine was first introduced for the 1980 model year and was produced until 1984. This engine replaced the 250 cid in full-size Chevrolets and Camaros as the new base V6. Additionally, the intermediate Chevrolet Malibu and Monte Carlo also used the 229 cid as a replacement for both the 200 cid V6, and the 231 cid Buick V6. Both the Buick V6 and the 229 cid Chevrolet V6 are 90-degree V6 engines, and both are often referred to as the 3.8L V6. These engines should not be confused as being the same, and are completely unique engine designs.
The 229 cid has a 3.736-inch bore and a 3.48-inch stroke, identical to the Chevrolet 305 cid V8 engine. The 229 cid used the same 2.45-inch main bearing and 2.10-inch rod bearing diameters as the 200 cid V6 engine. Also like the 200 cid V6, the 229 cid used the same crankshaft with the 18-degree offset throws and the same 5.7-inch connecting rods with 0.050-inch narrowed ends. It came equipped with 1.84-inch intake valves and 1.50-inch exhaust valves. The 229 cid V6 was only equipped with a 2-barrel carburetor. For 1980 the 229 cid used a mechanical Dualjet. From 1981 to 1984 the electronic Dualjet was used along with the GM's CCC (Computer Command Control) system. The 229 cid was rated between 110 and 115 hp (86 kW).

WHERE IS THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR LOCATED

The 2002 Santa Fe came with three (3) possible powertrains (engines). The 4 cylinder, and two different V6 engines - i.e. 2.4L 4 cylinder, the 2.7L V6 and the 3.5L V6.

The crankshaft position sensor on the 4 cylinder and the 3.5L V6 are in the same place - Front Crank Shaft behind the pully (behind the timing belt cover.

On the 2.7L V6, the Cranshaft Position Sensor is located in the engine block (Left Hand Side)
near the flywheel (adjacent to the LH (Bank 2) exhaust manifold.

Note: Left Hand Side means the radiator side (front) Bank 1 is the firewall side.

Change a crankshaft position sensor on a 2000 eclipse

Is this a V6 or 4cyl???>>>(V6) This requires removing the Harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley). Remove (R) front wheel, remove engine splash Guard, Remove crank pulley, remove lower timing belt cover. The Crank sensor is located behind the crank shaft pulley!! I highly recommend having this done by a certified tech, requires special tools. Hopefully this helps!!

Ran out of fuel

The reason is: When you completely run out of gas your gas lines are completely drained of fuel. When you refuel the car the fuel lines are still empty, and you will need to crank the car until the fuel pump has filled the gas lines and established the correct fuel pressure.I also suggest you turn key to on position to let electrical system run fuel pump and when ready to crank over engine have battery hooked up to a battery charger this should do it!!
