How do I get the fuel gauge and the tachometer to go in reverse?

They are stuck behind the stop point as if they went in reverse. I think the last time I had this problem was because the battery was connected in reverse

I am surprised you don't have lots of damage if the battery was connected in reverse. Charles, is this a joke? Very funny. Please understand why I thought this was a joke. Reversing the battery is only allowed once on a lifetime. The neg terminal should go to the cable that is connected to the engine block trace it out.

if you keep having this problem, then either there is a defect in materials or your mechanic doesn't know what he is doing, you need to get it to a dealership and have one of their mechanics look at it

You can check the reverse light bulbs and see if they are bad/corroded, also check ground wire.

Odometer, tachometer, speedometer, and gas gauge suddenly stopped working.

Sounds like the body control module has gone bad. It has a relay that caries considerable current to all of these accesories and wears out.
It can also be a solder joint on the circuit board where this relay mounts.
Hope this helps, Robert

The instrument cluster is a sealed unit, do not recommend taking it apart for that. What I would do is drill a small 1/16" hole near where the stop pin is through the plastic outer cover and use a paper clip or sewing needle to move the fuel guage needle back to the other side of the stop pin. Reseal with a drop of super glue to keep dust out of cluster.

Check fuse No. 9 (10A) in the driver's side kick panel fuse box. But if your other gauges are working (speedometer, tachometer, low oil light, etc.) then it is possible that when you jumped the battery you inadvertently reversed the cables and created a reverse voltage. This will impact some of the vehicle electronics. If you feel this might be the case, you should test the cooling system temperature sender to see if it failed. If it did, you should suspect that the fuel gauge drive circuit located in the instrument cluster is also failed.

The gauges have stopped working ? Fuse under dash seems to be OK ?

Behind the dash is what they call a constant voltage regulator. It controls the guages. It's small and located behind the dash near speedo.
