when you say good fuel pressure is it 55 psi with the key on and engine off? any thing less then 50 psi will not start the engine. if the engine starts with starter fluid then the problem is in the fuel system.

You may want to check your ignition switch? If your ignition switch is bad then it will not allow electrical power to your starter. I hope this helps.

First I would suggest a new starter relay/solenoid, but It sounds like your start button/starter switch. if not the switch the wires for the button are shorted somewhere. you'll need to follow them to the source of the short.

If the ignition switch fuse, starter relay, battery, and starter are all new, why wont my jeep crank

Here are some possible reasons:

Park/neutral switch is open.
Poor ground connection to starter.

You can test the park/neutral switch by either jumping the solenoid (connect the hot terminal to the start terminal to see if the starter cranks--if it does, the ground is good) or by interrogating the starter relay socket. To interrogate the relay socket, use a 12 volt test light connection the clip to battery positive. Probe the socket terminals with the test light. If only one terminal lights the light, your park/neutral switch is bad or the start wire to the solenoid is bad.

Be sure the AIR BAG/VATS fuse 10 amp, is good. there is a STARTER ENABLE RELAY up high on the left of the steering column. I ASSUME the anti theft light is not flashing?" at the STARTER ENABLE RELAY the YELLOW wire is hot in the crank mode and comes out large PURPLE to the starter. the small purple wire is hot in the crank mode if the fuse (air bag/vats) is good. the small yellow is grounded through the park switch and the VATS module (anti theft)

1996 jeep cherokee, wont crank in neutral or park. It did it on saturday, then rectified itself. Now its done it again and wont start. All the lights etc work and the fluid levels are fine. Any ideas?

remove switch wir the small one from starter motor when it won't crank and test with a test light to see if it has power when key in crank position if has power starter motor or starter solenoid is bfaulty. if no power could be ignition switch or possably immobilizer fault.

I need help! I have a 1996 vw Jetta! Wont start and wont crank! Dash lights come on but when I turn the key nothing happens! What should I check?

I would check to see if you are getting power to the small wire on the starter solenoid when you turn the key to the starting postion. If you do, the starter is bad. If not, you probably have a bad ignition switch.

YOUR PROBLEM is either Battery lower than 12volts or Starter Motor Jamed in or burnt out ,or battery lead loose on battery, or on the engine block (Black wire is earth) bolt could have come loose on engine,,
To try ,turn on lights, turn to start if lights go out then Battery flat or no good ,,if lights stay on when key turned on nopower to starter .
Let me know the out come of it Ron

My xj6 wont turn over

Check the battery first. next check the fuel supply and then the ignition system if these are all ok it could be the starter solenoid or starter motor.

Electrical problem

I just had the same problem and I was driveing myself nuts trying to determine which control unit or relay was bad. I decided to go back to basics, starting with the battery, cleaning all the cables and makeing sure all the ground studs were tight. On the firewall there are 3 power supply studs,1 on the left,1 in the middle for the starter supply and 1 on the right.put a wrench on each connection and tighten them.Worked for me! Good luck
