I have an Acura 2005 RL and had similar problems. It turns out the problem was when I used BlueTooth technology with Acura's HandsFreeLink. Maybe the problem was fixed with the 2006 RL but I did not discover the problem until a year ago. Whenever we were engaged in a phone conversation with the cell phone before turning off the Acura ignition, the HandsFreeLink would stay on (even after the phone conversation was completed) and drain the battery, especially if the car sat for long periods of time before being restarted (like overnight). It took us forever to isolate the issue, we notice the problem occurred more frequently when the grandkids were riding with us. Acura said they could not fix the problem so we asked them to disable the Bluetooth feature within the HFL. We have not had a dead battery ever since.

Check engine light lit or a sercuity light ? There are two relays , starter cut relay 1 an 2 .in the drivers under dash fuse / relay box, these relays are turned on by the PCM - engine computer ! You could check these relays for battery voltage ! an to see if the PCM is turning the relays on !

Also in the under hood fuse / relay box , there are two fuse's you can check ! fuse 22 120amp an fuse 23 50amp .these fuse's supply the ignition switch an the starter cut relays !

SOURCE: Lights started flickering battery light came on Dash lights and gages went crazy now wont start

Like you said, battery may be flat. You can check that with a multimeter.

Next check the alternator. Faulty alternator leads to uncharged battery.

It depends on your driving conditions, and the stresses put on the engine.

A good rule of thumb for synthetic oil change is 6000 mile intervals

SOURCE: i have charging system problem on my 2006 toyota

your battery could have a dead cell and still register 12 volts when not running,, if your getting 13.67 volts on the posts with the car running, the alt is fine,, but the battery is faulty,, take it and have it load checked, that way you can be sure it has the amperage that its supposed to have,

Could be the battery isn't charged enough to turn the motor over. Try jumping it and listen under the hood for any grinding or metalic sounds. You can have lights inside but not enough to start the motor.

Hello I have a 2005 acura rl and I keep getting the battery light ad the alternator is not charging. I replaced the battery , alternator, and changed all terminals removed the ground and cleaned, ad s

Very possible you got a bad alternator. Have put a meter on it to see if it is charging an it is a fault. Sometimes connections an gauges break down.

Lights flicker dash

Check your battery connections and make sure the belt for the alternator is not loose or seriously worn out.
You may have a defective dash panel or connection behind the panel. But if the lights only flicker with the engine running I would be concerned there may be a problem with the alternator.
But the check the battery condition first, weak batteries can cause all kinds of strange issues.

Service battery charging system message came up on the dash. Dash lights have been flickering recently

Stop by any good parts store and have your charging system tested and your battery load tested. Most will do it free. Sounds like an alternator on it's way out or a stretched belt, but have it tested before throwing parts at it.

98 accord wont start. lights flicker in dash and engine wont turn over

Have the battery checked.  You may have heard a fast clicking sound when the lights were flickering, if so it's coming from the starter solenoid.  If the battery is bad, have the voltage regulator and alternator checked also.  A bad voltage regulator or alternator will kill the new battery.

Try starting with jumper cables, if that works, you can pull the battery out, take it to a auto parts store that will test it for free (most parts stores will do this).  If it's bad, you can put a new battery in and then drive straight to somewhere to have the charging system tested.
