ok,you have to take it to the dealer, there are two plugs on the bottom, the lower one is the drain, the higher one is to fill it.

When i put the car into gear it is stuck in idle and when i rev the rpm's up to 3 then it kicks in and goes. Everytime i stop i have to do this.

the trans is slipping. check the level. with the engine hot, remove the dipstick and wipe clean. it will be located where the engine and trans meet. make sure it's not the oil dipstick. insert the stick and remove. the level should be between the lines or holes. if the fluid level is between those marks, don't add any. the type of fluid is printed on the dipstick. if the level is low add enough to the full mark only. add small quantities. 1/2 qt at a time. then check the level. if the level is good, have the trans fluid and filter changed. if that desn't work, there are mechanical problems.

Where do i add transmission fluid or check the fluid level

Do you have the owners manual?

Trans fluid should be located near the back right side.A dipstick marked tran or transmission. You add in the hole where the dipstick goes.

Need to add transmission fluid in Cadillac CTS 2004. How do you do it?

tod34 is correct. The "fill" area of this transmission is located on the transmission itself. It is a fluid leveling plug located low on the main case toward the back of the trans. You must pump the fluid in through that hole. If you are on level ground and the transmission is properly warmed, you should fill the transmission until the fluid level is flush with the bottom of the hole (starts spilling out)

Were do you put transmission fluid in the transmission?

You have to check the fluid from the bottom on the back side of the transmission with a special tool. So if you don't have a way of getting under the car or have a special tool to do it with then you won't be able to. You also have to fill the fluid using this same hole.

Need to know how to check trans fluid in a 1998 old cutlas. Found add hole but no specs. Cant see fluid, but dont want to over fill ?

there is a special tool for checking the fluid, in order to get a proper level check the trans fluid must be very hot, at least 180 F, to check it without the guage tool stick your finger in the hole, you should just be able to touch the fluid when your 1st knuckle is at the lip of the fill hole.

Check automatic transmission fluid level

Dipstick is to the left of the engine. Should be a small yellow dipstick. Add fluid through the dipstick hole. The vehicle should be running when you do this. It is best to have driven at least 20 miles before adding trans fluid so everything has had time to get hot.
