On these models, it is not necessary to check the fluid at regular intervals. (with no dip stick ). unless there is a leak or shifting problem. Here is how you would go to change the fluid! heres how to check it! Raise and support the car with jack stands, put drain pan in place under tranny, remove the front and side transaxle pan bolts. loosen the rear pan bolts one turn. carefully pry pan loose with a screwdriver, to drain the fluid. When drained, remove remaining bolts on pan. use a new gasket on pan if needed to put back on.(( FLUID LEVEL CHECK: vehicle has to be level! start vehicle let run for 3-5 minutes, shift through all the gears, locate fill plug on top of transaxle. it is on the drivers side ( look and you shall find it.) the check plug is located near the pan. adjacent to the drain plug. remove the plug, when fluid drips out of drain hole. fluid level is ok. the fluid level should be at the bottom of the drain plug. The reason I know, is because my 2000 Malibu was the same! When replacing the pan put in bolts . working around pan tighten each bolt a little at a time. until the final torque is reached. God -_Bless! if pan was removed.

I would go to a transmission service center and ask them if they think it needs service . anymore most just flush /back flush them which cleans the filter too and when the fluid runs clean they stop . usual cost is around 100.00

How many quarts of trans fluid does a 2000 ford explorer v6 need

Did you check your trans dip stick? The tranny dip stick usually has a quart low mark. If this is a manual tranny, that is different, you didn't specify automatic or manual tranny?
{Automatic tranny, the spec is for dry fill, only. 10--12.7 quarts . Dry fill means not a drop of tranny fluid in the vehicle.}
You have to check proper fluid level, that is your responsibility. Your owners manual may have some of this info?

Transmisson on a 3.8L automatic V6 Thunderbird problem.

Never add anything to an automatic trans but the correct fluid.
New fluid will make it slip worse
Lucas-is a waste of money and may ruin your trans.
You may get away with removing the valve body and cleaning it.
I would suggest a trans repair shop,but don't let them sell you on rebuilding yours until they try the valve body,unless the fluid is burn't,then your done, as you already should know

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee - V6 engine with a Automatic 4-speed Transmission. Unit will not shift out of 1-2 speed into 3-4 gear. I have checked shift linkage - is OK & TV linkage OK. Is there a vacuum...

The only thing that you can do is check the trans fluid.Start car,run it through all gears and end in neutral.Handbrake on.Now check the trans fluid level.Make sure engine is warm.If needed add fluid.If this is not the problem,a tranny expert is the go.There is not a lot anyone can do with an auto trans at home.Hope this helps

Where is the filler cap for the transmission on a suzuki vitara v6 automatic ?

You add A/T transmission fluid at the same place you check it.
Same place you check the A/T fluid level. You add fluid at the same location.
