Ever body else who answered this are basicaly correct .
You have antifreeze getting in to the combustion chamber .The white smoke is steam from the water in the collant.
Chevy has had a problem for years with intake manifold gaskets they don't have enough bolts olny 8 and all in the corners the rest they reley on glues to seal the mid portions that works fine until the engine gets to hot .This is why the colling system hold so much antifreeze
Don't drive it the antifreeze gets behind the piston rings and seals the oil out so the rings can't move no lubericant .
Hopefully its the intake manifold its cheaper and easyer to to repair

You can do an engine compression test to verify. If some cylinders are low that would indicate a bad gasket.

Dan is correct but you could be lucky and it is only a head gasket. Immediate attention required. Check to see if any drops of water on oil stick or drain the crank case and look at the bottom of the container of the old oil.

Sounds like your head gasket is cracked letting radiator fluid into your pistons. After it runs a little bit the water will dissipate. White smoke means you are getting water into the piston areas. Better repair ASAP before major damage is done. Will cost you big time if you don;t get repaired.

SOURCE: 1992 Plymouth Voyager won't start after it rains

I don't know if this is the same, but I used to have a 87 Chrysler LeBaron. It ran great until you washed it or it started raining. Then it would die and it wouldn't start until 2 or 3 days later after it dried out. I took it to the shop several times, they always said it was the fuel pump. It turned out to be the wiring that runs next to the battery, had the insulation eaten away from battery acid over the years. I wrapped the wiring next to the battery in a piece of plastic and I never had another problem with it. Sounds cheesy I know, but it was ironic that several shops looked at it and couldn't figure it out. As far as white smoke that might be a differant problem.

Started my 94 accord this morning lots of white smoke it went away win it warmed up checked oil its clean also under oil cap normal no overheating still rund the same any ideas just had oil changed...

White smoke is usually coolant burning. Could have also been a large buildup of water/moisture in the exhaust.
How's the coolant level in the radiator ?

My Isuzu d/cab diesel gives out white smoke when i start the engine is that bad?

In the morning,it is quite common for some white smoke to appear due to the difference in temperature of the outside and the heat of the engine, but should stop after warming up.If there is excessive smoke, there could be more wrong, possibly a blown head gasket.Try having a pressure check done on the cooling system as well as a compression test done on the cylinders.

Engine smoke and smell

You have a bad head gasket. So far the leak is not so bad but will eventually reach the oiling openings in the gasket so watch out for that. Change them as soon as you can
