Most common issue is a failed fuel pump. You shouldbe able to hear the fuel ppump run for a few seconds when you turn the key on. If not you need to check the fuse and relay. If they're good then need to check for voltage going to the pump. If there is no voltage then the fuel pump driver may be bad. If you have voltage to the pump then the pump is bad.

My 1981 C70 was ran out of fuel and now wont start low to zero fuel pressure

Some late model vehicles have a fuel pump cutoff safety switch that kills the pump if something causes the fuel pressure to drop to zero (like a broken fuel line). In such cases the safety switch has to be defeated if you run the vehicle out of gas. Check with a dealer or a mechanic familiar with this issue for information.

No voltage to fuel pump 2002 saburban

vehicles have a safty device that kills the fuel pump in case of a roll-over accident so the fuel will not be poured on to the car and ignite. also, this fuel pump kill switch is used when you are going to remove the fuel pump to de-pressurize the fuel line by cranking the engine while the fuel pump safety switch is off. you can restore the power back to the fuel pump by resetting the fuel pump safety (kill) switch. some are located in the trunk, by the fender well, behind the carpet. some are located inside the kick panel where the front passenger sits. check your motor manuel for that vehicle or ask a parts person at the dealership for the location of the safety switch for the fuel pump.

Fuel safety switch location or other reasons it won't start after crash.

Generally speaking, only Ford products have a safety switch or inertia switch for the fuel system. This includes some Mazda models.
I would start with the basics and check for power to the coil and the fuel pump relay.

The car still starts but shuts off A new fuel pump was put on but I believe the repair man did not know how to fix the kill switch which is in the trunk of the car

If the fuel safety switch, was open or bad, you
would not have a complete electrical circuit
to the fuel pump

It wouldn't start

Don't you talk to your mechanic,

2003 4.6 f150 wont start replaced fuel pump, filter engine cranks computer reads all systems fine

When you turn on the key to Run, do you hear anything? There is an Inertia cutoff switch which kills the power to the fuel pump. This switch is usually behind the front kick panels and has a reset button that you push. It is a safety switch and can sometimes trip if a doorslam or impact is felt by the sensor.

There can be a Fuel pump relay in the black powerboxes, but there is no Code, so it should be okay. If you have a gauge to measure fuel pump pressure, check to see if the fuel pump is working by measuring pressure at the fuel rail.

Fuel pump not getting power checked fuses and relay and fuel pump is relay board bad

Check in the trunk on the drivers side for an opening in the carpet. There can be 2 switches and 1 is for the Air ride and the other is a fuelpump safety switch. The safety switch is called an "Inertia switch" and it has a push button for Reset. Just hold the button down for 3 seconds and it will reset.

Then turn on the Ignition and you should hear the fuelpump run for a few seconds. It should be ready to start. If the Inertia switch was tripped it is made to kill the fuelpump upon impact. Slamming a door or the trucklid can make it kill the fuelpump.
