Drop the drive shaft, pull it out. Remove the transfer case. Remove the transmission mount nuts from the cross member. Jack the transmission up and remove the cross member. Unplug electrical plgs and remove the shifter and mount. remove the starter. In that hole remove the torque converter bolts. Remove the bell housing bolts. Back the transmission out to get clearance to remove the flywheel. Use locktite on the flywheel bolts and the torque converter bolts when you install them.

SOURCE: Replacing the transmission in my 2000 chevy truck

You'll need a box end wrench and a pry bar. Use the pry bar to hold the ring gear against the motor while you use the box end wrench to remove one bolt. Then rotate the engine with the bar to bring the next bolt around to where you can get the wrench on it. Repeat until you have the bolts off. Do not lose those bolts. If you do they will have to be ordered at the dealer.
When you put the torque convertor back in the transmission it has to go in two steps. It will slide in so far and then you will have to turn and push until it goes in again. If you don't do this the trans will not mount flush with the engine. When it's in the transmission properly it should sit about an inch inside the housing. Hope this helps.

Either the starter isn't engaging the flywheel or the flywheel is chewed up/missing part or all the teeth/gears.

How do you install a clutch on a Pick up Toyota 1994

What engine? four wheel drive?
Remove rear drive shaft, transfer case if it is four wheel drive, and front drive shaft.
Remove transmission.
Get the kit to replace clutch disk, pressure plate and throw out bearing.
If the flywheel is worn, or grooved, replace it or get it turned at a machine shop.

2001 chevy silverado 2500hd duramax 4wd p0700 code came up after changing rotors and pads on front

You may have disconnected / or moved a broken wire to the ABS wheel sensor during the brake job. Also taking the brake fluid cap off and checking the fluid level, and just reseating the cap may turn off the code. Check these things first, check the wires to the wheel sensors check the fluid in the reservoir, reservoir top fit, and any wires / plugs at the brake ABS master cylinder. If all else fails have some one read the code.
