1846572 If it was me-I would look at the distributor like hands on a clock. Remembering that there is only (8) hands though. It turns counter clockwise so lets not forget that .

1967 buick riviera 430 dist firing order also vacuum diagram for engine and does dist wire go on pos side of coil?

F.O. is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Rotor turns clockwise. Wire from coil to distributor is from negative side of coil. The positive side of coil is for hot wire originating from ignition switch. Always hot with key on.
For vacuum diagram, just google "1967 Buick Riviera 430 cu in, vacuum diagrams" . It is there.

Looking for dist firing order for 1967 430 plus a vacuum diagram and what side of coil does dist wire go on?

The firing order is, 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2
Odd and even numbered cylinder banks. driver side bank, front to back, 1 3 5 7
passenger side bank, front to back, 2 4 6 8
Dist rotor rotation, clock wise.
If you put number one cylinder on tdc of compression stroke, then whichever sparkplug tower the rotor is leading into, in the proper direction is number one. Then you follow the firing order in proper direction around the cap.

I need to know where the plug wires go.from spark plug to distibuter cap on a 1986 4.1 coupe deville(cad.)

FIRING ORDERS NOTE: To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement. If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes in your book to reflect how your engine is wired. I need the timming specs in my 1966 buick riviera its got a 425 nailhead single 4.

The spark plug type is 44S and the gap is .032. The ignition points should be set at a 30 degree dwell angle or a .016 point gap. The ignition timing should be set at 2-1/2 to 3 degrees before top dead center, and the engine compression should be 170 psi. Let me know if you require a firing order diagram or any further assistance.

Distributor cap firing order diagram

1-3-4-2
Marker on dist is number 1 (TDC) next with correct rotation of the crankshaft should be cyl 3 and so on. The corresponding firing order should have a TDC orientation meaning during power stroke the valves should be both closed. Same at the dist cap 1-3-4-2 in the correct direction of rotation.
