It's dieing. Quit driving it and tear it apart. The filter is clogged. Needs a thorough cleaning,Thorough. Install a new clutch kit, and all the solenoids on the outer part of the transmission. Replace the torque converter also. Install a inline transmission filter and a transmission cooler. Bypass the radiator. These are complicated transmissions. Buy the manual for it and follow it to the T. If you have a CVT transmission. Take it to a shop. You don't have the tools to do the job. They are very expensive.
Sorry JD, but there is no bypass of the TCM and transmissions on these. If there is, let me know.

I see this a lot on cars that folks use for "non transportation" uses(racing) , I assume that u left the diag port in wire harness (hope so cus now you need it ) plug a code reader in port and look for major faults , could be as simple as a part u took off to gain some Hp (catalytic convertor) or clearances for speed equipment (turbo) and the stock brain box didn't like it being taken away !!
code reader are so cheap nodays every one should have one , ive even got one now that wirelessly connects my smart phone to car to ck all that ales it while u drive wow !! and it wasn't expensive

How to adjust idle?

hot engine ?, cold or both,, EFI runs in 3 modes, cold ,warm and hot.

name it.

which engine option (displacement)??????

there is no idle adjust, that is the PCMs, job 100%, all the time.

Carbs are gone.

here is rule one for all EFI.

idle is the last thing to work correctly.

anything the causes a gross imbalance of engine power to engine load, under idle will cause , idle controls to fail.

low idling causes. (over 50 but, here ar basics)

1: AFR (air fuel mixture too lean) usually surges. (clogged or leaking injectors. or fuel pressure way to high)

2: air leaks, cause racing, so not that. (speed density car ,if is)

3: egr stuck open. low idle and misfire.

4: ISC stuck closed (IAC electric)

5: cam belt slipped, timing retarded, compression at 1/2 spec, and well, valve will bend soon....

6: CEL glowing running? can be in limphome, limp cancels Idle controls (in may cases) RTM read the FSM on DTCs.

if fails hot?, is hot = 180F temp or more? "thermometer time"

if not, the PCM goes , quite nuts.

My 2001 Honda civic Lx battery light flix while car is moving .

1. Make sure the dimmer switch (dash lights level selector) is not pushed all the way up. If not, check the buttons on the door jan (driver and passenger) to ensure they are not stuck "in". If so, you may need to remove these and try to "free" them from their stuck position.
