Hello,

I believe you have electric assisted steering on that vehicle. No fluid is used.

Power Steering Fluid Power steering pumps are ordinarily lubricated with power steering fluid. Use the correct type for the vehicle. Check the owner's manual if you are unsure.

Usually it's a belt driven power steering fluid pump that has hoses that lead to the rack and pinion steering.

Unscrew the cap and add power steering fluid to it there.

Power steering fluid?

The power steering on your 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx has electronic power-assist and not hydraulic power-assist so there is no hydraulic fluid. If you're not already aware, this vehicle is part of a major recall from General Motors for power steering failure. Contact your local Chevrolet dealership for more information. How to drain (and replace) power steering fluid ?

take off the low pressure hose,( the ones that attach with hose clamps)then start the car turn the steering wheel back and forth, re-attach the hose and fill with new fluid, it might take a bit to get all the air out, just keep turning the wheel
