Look for a pinched leed from the sensor or maybe actuator is shorted . with power off check each wire for direct ground

Hi. Could you tell me which fuse controls the electric aerial. Nissan terrano ll 1996 import.

typically the fuze is under the hood. It is a inline fuze attached to the antenna motor.. I may be hidden under the fender, so find the motor for the antenna and follow the wires till you come upon the fuze holder. It comes apart with a twist, be sure to replace with the same value fuze. 2 amp usually. It has been my experience that these fuzes blow because of a short in the wiring or a short in the motor itself. so if your replacement fuze blows right after you put it in, you have more than a fuze problem.

My run/start fuse is blowing but it only does it sometimes. I just bought the Jeep and I drove it for a week and it drove fine. I changed the plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. I drove it around and then f

Did you or previous owner add any electrical things like winch, radio amp or lights hooked up to that fuze? If yes, rewire so they run on their own properly sized fuze.

If no, you have an intermittent short somewhere. Get a schematic, figure out where the wires from that fuze go to get to the things the schematic tells you they go, then follow the wires looking for damage. If you cannot isolate wiring harness damage, run new wire taped to the outside of the existing wiring harness.

It is possible one of the things hooked up to that fuze has an intermittent problem inside. A way to find that is to run a separate fuzed power to the devices (ignition coil, EGR, fuel pump etc). on that circuit, drive it for a while and see if that fuze blows. If it does, investigate/replace that device. This requires major surgery on the wiring harness and is not to be undertaken lightly, this is a big deal and it is hard. Big problem is to make sure the reconnected wires are reliable for the next 15 years.

Blowing A/C fuzes

Well the short answer is too much current flowing thru the circuit. It would depend on what the fuse controls as to where the problem is. Could be a component or a wiring problem, including a short to ground.

I have a 93 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 every time i engage it into 4x4 it blows the 4x4 fuse

Try unplugging the front axle actuator (at the front differential). If the fuse stops blowing, you have a short inside the actuator.

My 4x4 fuse keeps blowing. I put in a new one, shift into 4 wheel drive and it blows. Is it a short or could my 4 wheel drive be out. It is a 1994 chevy suburan.

Try this,on the front axle there is an actuator for the 4x4,unplug it and try to engage 4x4 with it unplugged,if the fuse doesn't blow, actuator is bad.
Also look at the wires going to the actuator they get damaged from brush and things.

The electrically operated windows do not work. The fuze is blown and I cannot replace them because as soon as I try to the fuze blows. Car is off at the times I tried. Also windows worked fine throughout...

If it blows instantly you have a dead short, And the only honest opinion anyone of us can give is trace it, From the switch to the box, and to the motors, Sorry and good luck

Whenever I shift my 1988 K-3500 in to 4hi or 4low the fuse blows and will not engage into 4 wheeldrive. Any ideas on this?

On the full size, the front actuator is electric, not vacuum.

When in 4wd mode, a switch on top of the transfer case conducts 12 volts out to the actuator. Wire #50 (brown) is the 12v feed, and it conducts to the light blue wire (#900) to the actuator.
When shifted out of 4wd, the switch opens up and no voltage goes to the actuator.

Check voltage at the connector for the front actuator (at the front differential - it looks like a large bullet that threads into the front diff.) If it has 12 volts, the actuator is the problem. If it does not have 12 volts, check the transfer case switch and the power feed to the transfer case.

I'll assume it is the actuator, if the plug to the actuator is getting 12 volts when in 4wd.
The way this actuator works, is it is a sealed chamber that gets heated by voltage. When it heats, the pin in the end swells and pushes a shift fork in the front differential. The shift fork engages a spline on the passenger side of the differential, and boom! you have 4WD.

GM offered an upgrade to this actuator that is a motor instead of a heated device. However, it requires a small harness addition, a spacer, and a new actuator. It is about a $150 to $200 option.

Good luck. The actuator is usually the problem 90% of time but recheck all of the wire harness just to maker sure there is no short before replacing any parts. The actuator may not be fully engaged or disengaged and the fork to the spline may be what is causing the grinding.

4lo works fine 4hi won't engage

Same problem here. Just replaced the vacuum actuator and it still does not work. Could not see any damage to the tubes either. However after I manually move the vacuum actuator I can get it to engage and disengage up to several times but it never lasts
