How do i know if my 95 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 inline 6 is an interference engine

You have a timing chain that is good for the life of the engine. The only thing that could need replacing is the chain tensioner if it starts to make noise.

How do you know when the timing change go? Thank you.

Technically, timing chains are designed and built to last the entire life of the engine. So in theory, you should replace it only when it's broken. However, if the chain breaks while your engine is running, it could wreak considerable havoc, so waiting for a break isn't the best practical strategy. Before a timing chain breaks there are signs of wear, and it isn't hard to check for them. If your Jeep Cherokee is showing some of the signs, it is time to replace the timing chain.
Timing Chain Function
  • The timing chain connects the camshaft to the crankshaft via a gear system so that the top and bottom ends of the engine rotate together. If the timing chain has stretched and is skipping teeth, the timing will be thrown off badly, causing the Cherokee to run inefficiently, if at all. If the timing chain breaks altogether, the Jeep's engine will simply shut off, and many valve train components can be damaged in the process.
  • Loose Chain
  • Remove the distributor cap on the Cherokee's engine so that you can see the rotor. Then rotate the engine by hand with a wrench on the crank pulley very slowly. The rotor should begin to rotate with the engine almost immediately. If there is any delay, it is likely that the timing chain is stretched and needs to be replaced.
  • Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

At what mileage does the timing chain need to be replaced? jeep wrangler 2008,3.8 L 6 cil.80,000 miles

You change the timing chain now when your Jeep has indicated from a check engine light on. The timing chain in engines these days last as long as the engine will, there is a timing chain tensioner to ensure there is no slack.
When the timing chain has gotten stretched to much, your Jeeps PCM will indicate that with a check engine light on your dash and will be indicated with a DTC codes from a scanner.
So no worries about replacing your timing chain and keep up the regular maintenance, if you have a Mechanic tell you other wise, there just looking for money and your looking for more then just a timing chain being replaced.
You can bet that chain, chain tensioner, timing gears, water pump and might even throw in a cam replacement will be in his recommendation.
Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

Take the distributor cap have someone crank the car and look if rotor turns, look at rotor conditions, I am sure that you have replaced it, hot wire from positive on the battery to positive on the coil, if car starts after you have a problem on the key, Is it fuel getting to the injectors? after You replaced so many things,if your rotor is not turning when You crank the engine, your timing chain must be defective or timing gear,
