"i was only able to give a 200 letter detail sorry. I have followed some of the suggestion found on different forums of what others have done. The hydraulic pump has 12 volts and ground to it with key but the trigger signal wont reach the pump. I turn the key to position #2 and hit the red switch but nothing happens nor do i have any light or flashing. I do have a red light when car is running only. Any ideas"

SOURCE: the car will not fire, checked the obvious, fuel

If it still cranks over check the timing belt. You can either do a compression check or remove the distributor and watch the rotor when you crank it over. If the rotor turns the Belt is intact if it doesn't the timing belt has broken.

The remote trunk release radio signal from the key is conveyed to the overhead control panel control module (N70) via theantenna. This transmits the signal to the electronic ignition switch control module (N73) via CAN data buses. If a valid signal is recognized there the PSE control module (combined) (A37) is actuated via CAN data buses. Replacing the hard top on a Mercedes SL 320. The roof has docked at the offside front but none of the other points are in. However, now I cannot release the one point that has gone in... Is there an...

yes there is a manual release for the locks. Hopefully you still have the tool kit with the soft top tool in it. It will have a open wrench on one side and a allen on the other. For the rear locks use the open end wrench side and behind the side trunk panels you can see the mechanism for the rear latches. Slide the tool over the release mechanism and move upwards while lifting up on the top. For the front latches swing the visors to the side and remove little round cover. Insert allen side of tool and rotate until latch unlocks. Make sure vehicle is running when ever you operate the top or hard top as voltage can affect the operation of the latches.

How do I open the soft top on a merceedes 320 sl and move the wing mirrors

Wing widows should go down on thier own after you release the winshield locks and rear defroster wire and pull the top down switch back. If it doesnt work the button will flash that means something is wrong. Car running is usally a good idea when doing this to speed it up.

Did you release the winshield locks? and remove the defroster wire? After that you should pull back on the switch and the pins should just release to the body.

How to lower soft top manually on 1995 SL500?

It depends how much hydraulic pressure you have in the system. Take your softop tool and unlock the rear locks via trunk. see if you can raise the rear of the top (do not force because you will damage a ram). Next unlock your compartment lid and then the front of the top. You may be able to then retract it into it's storage compartment. The manual should also tell you how to release the hydraulic pressure via your pump in the trunk by your spare. hopefully I have been helpful

The window position is monitered by the softop control module. It sounds like the glass is very dirty and drawing too much amperage during window operation. The soft top is electro hydraulic. The roll bar is operated normally with hydraulics but it is mechanically released in an emergency situation. 1st make sure your windows are clean and the express(one touch operation) is working-the soft top will not function properly if the windows are not synchronized. Next be sure your roll bar works-hold swith in up position to lock roll bar rams in if they have been deployed. next put your top all the way up. untill windows roll up and try it with the engine running and trans in nuetral- if it still does not work mechanically secre rear of top with tool provided in your tool kit the owner's manual will tell you how to do this. good luck
