How do you take door panel off of jaguar s type 2000 reg

hi you take the panels off carefully .. rear door, there are lots of clips around the outer edge of the panel, but about 2" in .. approx one near each corner and one in the middle of each length and width also in the centre of the panel. Look inside the door pull, (armrest) lift the end of the rubber and lift it out, there are two screws under it. remove them .. starting at the bottom outer edge of the door, slide the plastic tool under the panel to find the first clip, locate the clip in the Vee, then slide the screwdriver down the middle of the tool to release the first clip, (they are tight, they might also slide out of the coloured clip anchor, spacer, it's ok) work your way round the door up both sides to the top, (at this point remove the bezel from around the interior door handle see below)

be careful along the top, remember the clip in the middle on the top section, too much force here will damage the panel .. always used the plastic tool you made to protect the panel.

Remove bezel .... use plastic tool or piece of plastic. . to protect trim ..
remove the bezel around the interior door pull, be careful, it is a very tight fit, there are three fixing points, clips, this is very flexible but it could break, start with the front edge, widest part, there are two clips here one top one bottom approx one third distance from the end of the bezel, at the end where the levers are mounted there is on clip centrally .. I suggest you release each clip in turn and then, this will seem wrong, but ease the narrow end, hinge end out of the panel first, gently prise between the end of the clip and the panel. .. when it is out, and it is a very tight fit, but it is flexible enough to come over the levers, gently work it over the levers. After removal continue to release clips along top of panel ..

plastic tool ... take the top from and icecream tub. cut it to approx 5"x4" .. score it gently down the middle with a knife then fold it along the score so that you have 5"x2" doubled .. then at the end cut a 'V' approx half inch wide at the top (through both thickness) to locate around the panel clips,
Remember to take all the sharp edges from the plastic tool so that it doesn't damage the trim or the paint, also if you later remove the lock lever assembly put masking tape over the outside door lever to protect the paintwork .. when you replace the trim mount all of the clips back on the panel first, be carful with the middle clip on the top edge .. hope that helps. sk

MY Dodge caravan's sliding closes and locks. When

I had the same problem. The issue is with the switch/sensor that is depressed when the door is closed. On mine, there was a white plastic "boot" on the end of the switch that had worn down/cracked. I went to the hardware store and bought a package of rubber tips (the kind that slip onto a chair leg, or end of a pipe, etc.) I pried off the cracked plastic piece and replaced it with the rubber boot. Viola, problem solved.

If your plastic boot is fine, or you don't want a do-it-yourself fix, the switch is easy to replace, and only costs about $5 at the auto parts store.

Saturn sc1 starting

check coolant temp sensor located at driver side end of cyl head. remove sensor and check or cracks. also check connector for corrosion. if cracked, go to dealer for replacment. they eill sell you a new designed metal sensor to replace your cracked plastic one. dont buy aftermarket, they will not be accurate. cracked sensor will cause eng. to run rich. may start ok cold but not when hot.

Rear window on driver's side slides down

I've had this problem and I believe its a common problem with S types. There is a white plastic slider that wraps around a metal strut and moves up and down as the window opens and closes. The problem is that the plastic slider breaks if the car door is slammed when the window is half way down, When this occurs the slider breaks free and the wire that pulls it up and down wraps itself around the motor and jamms everything up. The fix is to replace the window regulator as a complete unit. This fairly straight forward and worth the effort as you most likely will be replacing the other regulators if you keep the car for a while. Buy the regulator either from Jag dealer or OEM part which is approx 1/2 the cost (I found mine on ebay!). Make sure your get the correct unit, left, right, front and rear are different. Take off the door panel, its all clips except you need to unscrew the two scews under the rubber insert in the door pocket first. After you have removed the panel remove the black plastic cover as well. You need to detach the glass window from the regulator, This is done by punching out the brass insert in the middle of the plastic plug that is pushed through a hole in the glass. Be careful, if you hit it too hard you can break the glass, I ended up drilling it out as this was easier. Once you have the plastic plug out the glass is detached and you can remove the regulator. This is just a few screws, the only tricky part is to get the angle right to pull it out the door frame. Installation of the regulator is just the reverse. Good luck.
