Those models have a prime connector to fill gs line. it's located in motor compartment passenger side back relys. It´s a red cable with a black female insulated connector. jump it to + of the batt while anyone listen to hear the fuel pump activated.
If you do not here anything but a spark is noted when do the jump, the pump is damaged. if not spark is noted, probably a bad cable is the cause

Faulty fuel pump will need replacing, this vid is for 2002 but its just about the same, change fuel filter regularly 2-3 years as this can damage the pump. and lower the fuel pressure to the engine.

Unfourtnatly if the pump has never been replaced before its 13 years old .
These pumps last 10 years or so depending on how you drive it and how much fuel is in the tank low is not good they also have a high pressure 66 ft lbs and most of the fuel is returned to the tank its not needed WHY .
Another problem is the pump can't be axcessed with out droping the tank so you can test the circuit but can never be sure of the conection to the pump witch runs over the top of the tank and is an up grade now because it wasn't resistance wire and tended to over heat just what you need burning wires on the top of your fuel tank .Don't really know how chevy got away with this .
All I know is these fuel systems are so poorly disgined that the junk yards can't sell any parts for insureance reasons

I have a 2003 silverado, it starts fine in the morning but the rest of the day it cranks for a long time before starting. turning the key on and off a few times doesn't help. I have had the fuel pump

If the fuel pump is inside the gas tank, remove the gas cap, to equalize the air-pressure inside/outside the gas tank. That should let the fuel pump "suck" the gas from the tank.

Wore tires and uneven tire pressure can make you loose extra gas. Bad spark plug can to. If your talking about stalling, you may have a clogged fuel filter or bad injectors. What exactly is going on?

My truck will turn over and fire but it will

It sounds like you have a fuel problem and I would assume either a fuel pump that is going out or possibly a plugged fuel filter.

My truck wont start I replaced the fuel filter but there is no fuel getting to the filter

I shall assume that this is a gas motor?
Check for power and ground at the fuel pump. You can get to the plug in reaching under the bed through the drives rear fender well. Large grey wire and larger black wire, are the two you need to check. with the key on. If you got power/ground then you got a bad fuel pump.

take gas cap off and push in the flap for a second or two and then leave the cap off until you get the filter back on so you do not loose all your gas and try www.schramauto.com or call them at 1-800-292-1032 if you need any GM parts in future and you can try www.autozone.com if you need any more instructions or diagrams to help you out
