Check to see of the fuel pump is pumping gas and that gas is getting to the engine.

Has it been sitting up all winter? If so, you might need to drain fuel from the carb and replace the filter. It sounds like a fuel problem to me.

Last year I started engine to winterize it. It ran for about 10 mins and stopped would not restart.

I would think fuel pump. If you are a good mechanic, you can test the pump by disconnecting the line form it. Don't try this unless you know how. It can be a fire hazard.

Just turns off on it's own, Wait 60 sec. restart press pedel it dies.

This engine is electronically controlled so the first thing that must be done here is to have the systems control computer tested for fault codes and then do the proper diagnostics based on those codes.

Took RAV 4 to NC mountains and back twice this weekend. It ran fine but started it this morning and it would stall when I took my foot off gas pedal

I would change your fuel filter. The mountains, and the sudden jerking would provide a great chance for the fuel to pull up any nasties, and then run them through the line.

Car stalled twice today - once when low on fuel and at a stop sign - took foot off break and engaged but stalled- and then filled up and was going around corner and then stalled- what could it be

If the car actually ran out of gas, it could be air trapped in the fuel lines. it may take a few minutes for all the air to purge from the gas lines. The car may run rough during the process. The car should be fine after running a few minutes.
