Reattach the wire after you have turned off the switch. How to do this depends on why and how it became disconnected. If the wire is pulled out of the gauge, then it is more difficult. Pleas give year, make, model.

Gas gauge

The fuel sensor relay is responsible for powering the sensors that, in turn, relay information to your fuel gauge. The fuel sensor relay is located inside the main relay panel on your Jeep. However, the exact location of the relay inside the relay panel may vary depending on the year and model of your Jeep.

The guauge for water temperature does not work, which sensor and engine location ?

You may have to check with an auto parts store or the dealer to make sure you are looking at the right sensor. There should be two, one for the computer and one for the gauge. The parts books show a two wire and a three wire sensor. The wiring diagram shows a two wire for the computer but I wonder about a 3 wire for the gauge.
The sensors should be near the radiator hose on the engine.
If you unplug the sensor for the computer with the engine running the radiator fan should come on and the check engine light too.

My 2006 impala gas guauge doesnt work change fuel pump and still doesnt work

You have to change the whole sending unit to get the gas guage to work. If you did that then its either the wiring or the guage itself.

Replaced fuel pump on 1993 dodge dakota but truck still won't run

My 93 dakota had some corroded wires for the fuel pump. Broke in half under the cab. Follow the wires from the fuel pump in to the plastic wire wrap. lightly tug on the wires and see if any are loose. That's what fixed mine. Good luck!
