The wires run under the door opening sill plates, usually on the drivers side but check both sides.

The wire colors should be as below.

Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue

Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Light Green
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow/Black
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Light Blue/Red
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: Blue

If you have access to the rear of radio, try reversing the channels, to see if the speaker works, and if it does, then you know the wiring to door speaker is ok, if it doesnt, then you know that the wiring is broken somewhere along the route. If you have access to the cable itself only, try using a AA battery, attach the cables to both ends of the battery, and if it makes a noise, then wiring is ok.

Red is power to from ignition to cd deck
Yellow is direct power from battery to cd deck to hold the memory.
Black is ground
Blue is only needed if you are hooking up an amplifier.
I always suggest buying a wire harness quick connect system for $5, then you won't have to cut origional car wiring. If by chance you are taking the original wire route, then go to installer.com to find which wires on the car are for what.

The easiest way is to check the speakers themselves as manufacturers tend to change colors of speakers at a whim. Usualy though you will have 8 wires (4 front & 4 rear) paired in colours (white goes with white+black stripe(stripe is possative on speaker))etc.
Not knowing the cars electrics I can't be more specific.(I live in UK so don't know that much about U.S. cars)

You need to attach the blue wire on the stereo harness to the blue and white wire on the car adapter harness. they installed a small amplifier to power the rear door speakers and unless you connect those two wires then the speakers will not work.
