I can't get the symptoms here.
installed a new Ignition switch why? broke off the key?
then it wont start.
or it wont start and you replaced it for that guess?
you do know that the , SKIM must be happy to run , right>"
all jeeps 1993 to now , all have an ASD relay
this relay drops out after 3 seconds running for 8 reasons (up to)
one reason is the SKIM is failing due to incorrect key switch install>?
using a scan tool answers this in all cases.
the 8 reasons will be shown on the scan tool (for sure)

the runs in park , comment , confuses me.
but others here posted it does that. you trick the ASD to not drop out.
ok, it dont matter, what matters is ASD dropping out in DRIVE.
car wont move. in any gear, now that matters.
can your fast acting right foot keep it running? (Q1)?????
if yes , its a bad running engine problem (weak)
if no and the ASD drops just before the stall its an ASD ISSUE..
so is it?
The dash has a skim light, (on my 08 the lamp has no words or icons, just a simple red light (seen in the operators guide)
this light must not stick on, or you will not be able to drive.
that is its purpose. (IMMOBILIZER it is)
the did the no words trick, to fool thieves ...... by Design.!
Read the operators guide, now. see those lights? what they mean?

Where is the fuse located that activates the seatbelt alarm for my 2008 mercury mariner.

There is not a single fuse just for the seat belt alarm .
The instrument cluster provides the warning chime function. The instrument cluster uses various inputs to determine when to sound the warning chime. The warning chime sounds if:
  • the headlamps are left on with the ignition switch in the OFF position and the driver door is ajar.
  • the key is in the ignition with the ignition switch in the OFF position and the driver door is ajar.
  • the transaxle is not in the PARK (P) position and the driver door is ajar.
  • a door is ajar while the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
  • the safety belts are not fastened and the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
  • the turn signal is on for more than 3.2 km (2 miles).
  • the parking brake is engaged and the vehicle is moving more than 5 km/h (3 mph).
  • the ignition switch is in the RUN position and a secondary air bag warning chime request is received from the restraints control module (RCM).
  • the ignition switch is in the ON position with the transaxle in the PARK (P) position and the driver door is ajar (Hybrid).
An audible signal is provided to indicate when the turn or hazard signal is on.

Safety Belt Minder Deactivating/Activating
Preparation
  1. Apply the parking brake before deactivating/activating the belt minder.
  1. Place the gear selector lever in PARK or NEUTRAL (manual transaxle).
  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  1. Close all the vehicle doors.
  1. Unbuckle the driver safety belt.
  1. Place the parking lamps/headlamps switch in the OFF position.

Deactivating/Activating
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. (Do not start the engine.)
  1. Wait until the safety belt warning lamp turns off (approximately 1 to 2 minutes).
  1. NOTE: Steps 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt warning indicator turns off. For seating position being disabled, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt in the unbuckled state. After this step, the air bar warning indicator illuminates for 3 seconds.
  1. Within 10 seconds after the air bar warning indicator turns off, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
    • This disables the safety belt minder feature for that seating position, if it is currently enabled. As confirmation, the air bar warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
    • This enables the safety belt minder feature for that seating position, if it is currently disabled. As confirmation, the air bag warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds followed by another flash sequence of 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
  1. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.

2002 Jeep Liberty heater works, but defroster blows cold air

on all cars made
(you can read the FSM at any time and see exact way and tests)
1: damper stuck or its actuator bad. ( 3 kinds uses on all cars)
2 ;controls to damper actuator bad.
3: wires between both faulty.

3 types are motor, vacuum servo and cable.
you have 2 of the 3.
the blend is a motor actuator
the recric is vacuum servo
the motor types are very hard to test, read the FSM.

ill post the calibration

quote

Use this procedure to ensure that the A/C-heater control is correctly calibrated to the blend door actuator. If the calibration is not correct, the heating-A/C system may experience a condition where full heating or cooling capabilities cannot be obtained.
Manual calibration of the A/C-heater control should be performed if the blend door actuator is not functioning properly, or if the temperature of the conditioned air is too warm with the temperature control in the full cold position or too cool with the temperature control in the full hot position.
NOTE This calibration procedure can only be started within the first ten seconds after the ignition switch has been turned from the OFF position to the ON position. Make sure that the battery is fully charged prior to beginning the calibration procedure. NOTE The length of the pause made at each end of the temperature control rotation (sweep) is important. 5 seconds) or too long (greater than 1.5 seconds).
  1. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, move the temperature control to its middle (12 o'clock) position.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not start the engine).
  3. Within 10 seconds of turning the ignition switch from the OFF to the ON position, perform the following rotations (sweeps) of the temperature control.
    • From the 12 o'clock position, rotate the temperature control counter-clockwise to the full cold position. Pause one second.
    • Rotate the control clockwise to the full hot position. Pause one second.
    • Rotate the control counter-clockwise to the full cold position. Pause one second.
    • Rotate the control clockwise to the full hot position. Pause one second.
    • Rotate the control counter-clockwise to the full cold position.

2008 Jeep Liberty

Possible solution - This happened to me and my battery was dead in my key fob and also I needed an ignition switch because a piece on it was broken which therefore wouldn't turn to start the engine.

2008 Jeep Liberty does not crank. Dash lights come on. Door locks do not respond to RKE. Tried second key, but will not start.

Automatic transmission ? Try moving the gear selector to neutral . park neutral safety switch ,maybe. If placing gear selector in neutral doesn't do anything , looking at a wiring diagram to see what all is involved in the starting system . Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Free diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size . Under system click on engine ,then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue link .Do you know what a relay starter is , what a totally integrated power module is ? The starter control is controlled by a control module (computer )
