test the wires that come from the break pedal, to the break light, it might be a break in one of the wires. or you might just need to replace the light bulb..
Engine was running too hot, thermostat s/b 180, it was 195, antifreeze solution had too much water, this caused the radiator thermal switch to trip. I think the alternator was either bad, or the excessive heat made it draw too much. Two separate problems.
