If you're referring to the DIC display with the fuel economy, range, trip meter, etc, usually you can reset that by pressing and holding the "Enter" button on the bottom left of the display, while whichever display you want to reset is active. If you're not referring to that, then I'm not sure.

There isn't a fuel reset. But there is an inertia switch. These rarly go bad. They are set when the car is in an accident. On GM's it is either behind the kick panel on the passenger side or in the trunk behind the carpet, on the passenger side.

SOURCE: poor fuel mileage and power 2009 chevrolet malibu

Your numbers aren't that far off...the mpg posted is established using professional drivers...I could likely coax a few more mpg out of your car if I drove it because I know how. Generally, today's new engines do not need any "break in" so it should have adequate power right out of the box! There may not be any updates for the computer, but the map sensor should be able to compensate for altitude changes. Using a synthetic oil can help a bit as well.
I'd try and find out if there were any optional transmission or final drive gear options offered for different localities. That may affect both mpg and performance. As for shifting, (as well as everything else you mentioned, I'd definitely contact factory customer service if you aren't getting anywhere with your dealer) The car didn't cost $5.00, and therefore I would take it to the "next level" if you aren't happy with it!!

SOURCE: locatiuon of fuel filter on a 2004 silverado

I'm not sure on an 04', but my 01' Silverado has it mounted to the inner frame rail (under the truck) on the drivers side just behind the drivers door. The fuel line comes out of the tank, runs along the frame, goes into the filter, then continues on to the engine bay.

SOURCE: where is the fuel pump located on a chevy malibu

It's located in the gas tank and to replace it, your going to have to drop the gas tank.
Thank you for using fixya and if you are going to replace the fuel pump your self. Make sure you also replace the wire harness from the frame to the fuel pump.

2004 Chevy Malibu. Cranks but won't start up. Where is the fuel pump located? Where is the fuel tank located?

The pump is in the tank, the tank is in the rear (follow the big hose from where you fill it up) but dont just go put a pump in, check fuel pressure and make sure the pump is indeed getting power before replacing it. I cant tell you how many people replace a pump for no reason. I would have a shop check it for you.

Fuel pump filter

If you have a Malibu the filter is located in the fuel tank.
If you have a Malibu Classic it's located near the rear bumper behind the fuel tank.

Hello tawnya369: My name is Roger and I will help you. You will find the fuel filter located on the rear cross member just forward of the fuel tank. Be careful as the fuel system is under high pressure. You will need to access the filter from under the car. Should you need further help please just ask. Thank You for using Fix Ya.Roger
