OK.
1st. I would like with the electronic box of the transmission. Therefore you need a check tool connected. If there is no problem, than try to change the transmission fluid to a fully synthetic transmission fluid which complies with the recommendation of your Sorento + the transmission fluid filter AND --> (VERY IMPORTANT!): buy LUCAS TRANSMISSION FIX! It helped me. Now it runs smooth again. I paid 30 bucks for the electronic check + about 60 for the filter and the fluids. And spent about 4 hrs on the work. I'm sure a mechanic would have charged at some hundred bucks or even more. Again, this worked for me. This is for the clutch. Probably you do not have any misfire, as in this case the engine light would light on the dashboard. According to me you feel it because of the little slipping and clunking transmission while accelerating. Again, if you don't have an electronic problem, this should help. It helped my 2004 Sorento, its a V6 automatic. That was 2 yrs ago, no problem since then (ran 21000 miles since then).

Do you have any check engine lights on. There are a lot of different things you need to check, It sounds like you need to take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

Heard a clunk while driving diesel ford excursion now when drive and reverse don't work....any ideas what problem is?

If it is a four wheel drive check your tail shaft or drive line by securing the vehicles front wheels jack up the rear tires and in park try to rotate the drive line if you can hear the transmission sound like it is going into gear the transfer case could be damaged! If not a four wheel drive pull the transmission dipstick and look to see if the fluid is dark red or metallic grayish color if so then you're clutch disks inside the tyranny have been worn out and it needs to be rebuilt!

Clunking and sputtering noise when driving check engine light on code 0300

air fuel mix is wrong, its a jumping code meaning its misfiring on all cylinders, broken valve spring would only do one cylinder, could be the timing is out or its being starved of fuel or air. or you have a vacuum leak or manifold leaking. can also be a clogged egr. . and also a clogged fuel filter, also induction flush can do more damage than good. if its not done properly the loose particles can clog up in the small veins in the engine. in away just moves a none problem oil problem to a motion problem.

No power when accelerating hard

Possibly a plugged catylitic converter. This can cause to much back pressure and that will cause the engine to run poorly under acceleration or loaded conditions.

I have the same problem in 95 intrepid

does it clunk when you accelerate only ? if so you need new engine mounts. To make sure, open your hood and observe the engine movement when pressing the gas pedal while in drive(other foot on the brake of course )

2004 dodge caravan 2.4 Hesitates during Acceleration and at idele

You should definitely replace the fuel filter though this probably won't fix your hesitation. It wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plugs this is usually the culprit on these engine. I have the same engine in a '99 caravan and found the for some reason the spark plugs on cylinder 3 and 4 loosen up after one year and cause a misfire between 45 and 50 mph under load (when mildly accelerating).
