Take it to a mechanic and have it repaired. The parts are so far out of alignment that no amount of additional slamming will solve the problem.

Ignition switch will not engage/turn to start car

Hi Beth usually when shifter is stuck there is a locking mechanism and keeps shifter from engaging unless brake is depressed to release the lock. If you hear a clicking sound when pedal is depressed then switch is probably ok and its probably the steering wheel lock. First try with your spare key to start the vehicle(old key may be worn ). If that doesn't do it then try with WD 40 a very little in ignition key hole or on the key work it slowly and see what happens. If none of these suggestions work its probably the steering wheel lock and that requires surgery. Keep me post best of luck

When cold wont go into foward gears a little throttle slams it in then shifts fine

Start of a failing trans or just dirty valve body or solenoids,
inside the oil pan

Keep up what your doing with the slamming & it will be junk in a couple weeks

Park it & resolve any trans issues

I need to the piece is that keeps the transmision

You need a gear shift cable. just had one replaced. The little plastic ring piece at teh end broke and fell off the cable and Ford stated that I needed to replace whole cable since the little piece was not sold as an individual part. To get it fix ranges from $200 -$300 unless you know how to take off steering column and replace it. The part/cable actual costs about 70-80 bucks. Good luck!

I put a new fly wheel and starter in my 82 ford f150 with a 302 and automatic transmision now it wont engage in gear it did for a little while now it just runs but will not move

When the torque converter was put back in the transmission ,and the bell housing was tightened up,it broke the front pump in the transmission, because the torque converter was not set all the way back in the transmission.

Car accelerates without my pressing the gas

.the control sensor throttle ,look on the opposite side to the cable and a little box thingy with a wiring connection ,unless its a later vehicle then this will use a fly by wire. But i do fell this type of fault is beyond the average weekend mechanic and i would advise you to visit a dealer

Dash board shifter wont pull down into gear. a screw fell out and hit my foot. looked underneath and there is a little chip that the screw was screwed in

Do you mean the shift indicator don't move? The indicator is activated by a cable that gets pulled as you move the shift lever down. There's a spring that pull's it back, so if the screw falls out the indicator will say it's in park no matter what gear you have it in. If you put in park you may be able to get the screw back in.

Car is in park wheel & key wont turn

Your anti-theft steering lock is stuck.

Grab the steering wheel and pull HARD to the left, turning the key at the same time. It should pop loose.

My wife couldn't do it the other day, but it was just because she didn't have enough brute strength. The neighbor came over and pulled hard and sure enough it broke free.

After replacing rear drums the ABS light is on

you probably bumped the sensor and now it isn't close enough to the gear looking thingy to read it. just set the abs sensor a little closer so the light goes off but the sensor ins't touching the gear thingy. I have had the same problem. I bet your abs isn't working right now. see if you your brakes lock up when you slam on them.
