Follow upper hose to a metal dome shaped housing. remove bolts. observe the old thermostat and compare to the new one and insert the new one correctly. be sure to clean the mating surfaces and use a new gasket

fords are notorius for recalls on headgaskets if its boiling over i would have them checked
and be sure cooling fans are working first
