Which engine? (displacement?)
hot and cold engine it does that or only hot.
engine stalls.
scan it yet? using any scan tool? got DTC errors? what are they.
sounds to me (but im deaf) like MISFIRE, and stalling.
misfire is caused by over 50 things, i have list but why would i post 50 guesses? (kid stuff that)
misfire causes:

  1. never getting a tuneup this decade, is all time #1 reason......
  2. bad spark, see #1
  3. bad compression on 1 or more cylinders. (a simple test)
  4. bad fueling, too much (flooding) or too little, fuel starvation.
  5. EGR stuck open stalls all engines at idle or near.
  6. and many more...
there are some simple tests and all take tools
if no tools and just want guessing say that.
eg: i got misfire, please guess for me.

here, listen to the MASTER ASE mech here, he is #1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzsXMhNysks

see him say not to guess.? (my job is not to guess)
if you want to do the tests, say so.... (and buy tools)

SOURCE: loud whistling noise while driving.

There was a tech service message to move the luggage racks to behind the rear door, if your noise is from wind this should solve the problem

SOURCE: My 2000 Grand Jeep Cherokee Cuts Off

Code check is when you have someone put a scanner on it and read computer fault codes. "post" is what you wrote. Crank sensor would be my guess too but with jeep computer systems every good guess is usually wrong!(ignition coil will "break down the same way"

SOURCE: 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2w Drive won't go into reverse.

Service the transmission and when you have the pan off, adjust the reverse band. It is either out of adjustment or worn out. Try the adjustment first and if it doesn't get any better, you'll have to have the transmission rebuilt.

well is the motor shaking or does it feel like the tire/steering is shaking? if it feels like the tire then most likely it is your steering shock stabilizer. this is the shock that is in the front end of the jeep the runs horizontally. hope this helps.

Bad rear axle bearing and seal on a 2000 jeep grand

the bearing does not always have to be really bad for the seal to fail. Centrifugal force will throw axle grease outward where it gets on the rotor. That can make it feel like the rotor is out of round. If grease got on the brake pads I'd replace them and perhaps even the rotor. As far as the caliper being frozen, possible....check it out when you have it apart. You can have more than one shoe untied at the same time. Not always, but it can happen.
When replacing the seal make sure you put some grease on the lip before putting the axle back in. by doing that it won't fail from dry running before the diff lube reaches it.
