SOURCE: 1992 Isuzu Rodeo Distributor wires 3.1L engine

Hi,
Isuzu seem to have complicated things by changing engines, firing orders and even direction of rotation! As you can see, they've numbered the cylinders the other way than the 3.2L.

The Firing sequence for the 3.1 (traditional distributor) 6 cylinder is as follows -

d6e5b2a.jpg

If you take the distributor cap off, there should be a "No.1" formed on the inside. Stick a lead on this before you put the cap back on and go from there.
As leads are different lengths, you may have to swap a few to find the best fit.

I think 2 of them will look out of place - but that's the way it's designed. Just make use of clips for holding them neatly.

Thanks for using Fixya.

THE metal cover is just a sleeve on wire. it will come off with it. try turning wire back and forth to loosen it up from plug. helps a lot to have a set of wire puller pliers

High beams not working on mercury marquis

you have a bad wire .....had the same problem with mine.what i did was took out the turn signal /combination switch from the left side of the steering column and put a test light to each of the wires to see which one went on and off when using the high /low beam switch.then followed the same color coded wire down near the bottom of the steering column and spliced a new piece of wire into it.then ran the wire through the firewall (just happened to have one already there above the harness that goes through the firewall).if you need to drill small hole for new wire make sure you feed a half inch of small vacuum hose into the hole before you run the wire through.this will prevent a short from happening.then go under the hood on the driver's side and between the master cylinder and the fender you will see a brown colored plug about 3 inches long and about 1 inch around.tap the new wire into the green wire and then try your high / low beam.it should be working fine.haven't had a problem with mine since.....good luck , DAVE B.

I am trying to repair my 95 Camaro. The compressor has cycled off due to a low charge. The repair manual says if the clutch cycles off, pull the low-pressure cycling switch plug from the evaporator inlet...

evap inlet is the line running from the radiator area to the firewall. Follow that until you see something hanging on the side--could be on the dryer or line on either side of the dryer. Connector will have 2 wires--make a small shorting wire and push it into both sides of the connector.

What is the proper plug wire sequence on the ditributor cap for a 1998 Dodge Dakota 4 cilinder?

For all Dodge 4 cylinder engines, the firing order is 1-3-4-2
All dodge distributors rotate clockwise.
Standing on passenger side number 1 is at bottom left or 7:00 o clock.
going clockwise number 3 plug wire is next then number 4 then last one is number 2 wire.
plug wire number 1 is 7:00 o clock
plug wire number 3 is 11:00 o clock
plug wire 4 is 1:00 o clock
Plug wire number 2 is 5:00 o clock

Plugs

Changing the spark plugs is a pretty easy task. The spark plugs run along both sides of the engine, 1 per cylinder. (3 on each side) You can easily identify them by the plug wires running to them from the distributor. Pop off each plug wire, (1 at a time) and replace the spark plug. Once you have replaced the plug, replace the plug wire. This ensures that you dont mess up the sequence of the wires which determines which cylinder fires at what time in the cycle. VERY important not to mess up the sequence. If you should happen to get the wires mixed up, look online for the firing sequence for your vehicle and engine.

Power windows do not work.

IF BOTH SIDES ARE INOP CHECK POWER SOURCE(FUSE/CIRCUIT BREAKER).IF THESE ARE OK CHECK RED OR PINK WIRE IN DOOR OPENING FOR A BREAK IN WIRE CAUSED BY NORMAL OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE DOOR. THIS WIRE IS IN BLACK BOOT LOCATED IN DOOR HINGE AREA. THE WIRE FEEDS THE MASTER SWITCH. AFTER PULLING BOOT BACK A LITTLE GENTLY PULL EACH WIRE. WIRE WILL PULL OUT AND EXPOSE BREAK IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM. HOPE THIS HELPS! :)

Hi.what is the name of the wires going to under the master cylinder at the front end of the master cylinder ,I have a ford windstar 1998

do you mean the wires that go to the plug on bottom of master cyl or the plug on the side of master cyl ?
the wires to the plug on the side of the master cyl are to the brake fluid level sensor.
the wires to the plug on bottom of the master cyl are to either a brake pressure switch or a brake pressure transducer.
