SOURCE: 2002 Saturn SL headlights stay on

On a 2002 saturn, the headlights are not automatic, you have to turn the knob on the end of the signal light lever to turn them off.
Also, some models are equipped with "Daytime running lights"; a safety feature. these daytime running lights are just the amber colored front signal lights, which turn on automatically when the parking brake is released to make your car more visible during daylight hours. Furthermore, if any headlight refuses to shut off, there is an electrical problem, most likely a failed relay, which are located in the underhood fuse panel and can be checked quite easily with a multimeter, relay failures are veryrare, but not unheard of, especially in vehicles equipped with aftermarket fog lights. Thankfully they are cheap and readily available and are as easy to change as a fuse.

Yes you can. Use a large flat head screwdriver. You will have to take out the map light where you can see the motor. On the bottom of the motor you will see a white plastic circular thing insert the screwdriver in there and turn should close it. Hope this helps

The RT low beam does not work on my 1992 SL1. I used a test light to confirm that there is power going to the plug end, but when you turn the headlights on, there is no longer any power going to the plug....

if one side works, but not the other, your problem is not in the multifunction switch.
i would make darn sure that the headlight wiring harness has a good ground on that side.

Hey there. My issue is that my clutch is getting very soft (to the point to where it may go soon) and im not sure where i can go to get repairs since Saturn closed down. Should i try buying a clutch kit...

The choice is really yours, you could buy the part and take it to another shop although most don't like doing this. You could buy the part and if you have mechanical knowledge and skills you could replace it yourself or you can go to just about any transmission shop and have them do the job for you. In essence all basic clutch assemblies are the same, it's just a matter of getting the transmission out and back in. The newest, and I'm not sure you can consider it new, designs use a hydraulic clutch which adds some difficulty to the job when bleeding air out of that system but that is easily seen and done by any decent shop. I don't like pulling transmissions myself so I would take it to AAMCO if there is one in that area that still has a decent reputation. Again, it's pretty much your choice and you'll save money going to a Transmission shop instead of a car dealership.

I was told that the fuel pump for my Saturn SL was clogged. I cant afford to replace the pump right now, is there anything i can do to keep the car going till i can afford a new pump? What about having...

HUH??? Fuel pump "CLOGGED"??? I don't know who told you that, but I wouldn't let that person work on my bicycle! If there is a problem with your fuel pump, the ONLY thing you can do about it is to remove the fuel tank from the vehicle and replace the pump.
However, before I spent ANY money on ANYTHING, I would have the vehicle diagnosed by somebody that knows what they are talking about!
Do some checking and calling around. Many shops have finance options available for people that can't afford to come up with the huge chunk of cash that is required to replace something like a fuel pump. Some will even do 6 months same as cash...
This would probably be your best option.

1999 Saturn SL 2, The chime that indicates that you've left your headlights on continuously dings when the drivers side door is opened (headlights are NOT on) if the key is in the ignition chime will...

This is a common problem with the older saturns. The issue is in the key cylinder for the ignition. The way to fix it involves replacing the key cylinder, which in those cars is a total pain. It requires dismantling the steering column, drilling our the old lock, and replacing it with a new one. Problem is, it has to come from Saturn. There used to be a kit available from the dealer for about $120. I don't think it's available anymore. My wife's car has the same problem.
