repairpal.com > Problems > Mazda > MPV When turning the ignition off, if it stays running, just flick the ignition back on, but no so far as to ... My fan stays on after I cut my car off and it drains my battery.
Taken from other previous solution (but it's right): the cooling fans are switched off and on by a relay. either this relay bad and staying on all the time, or something else is bad and telling it to stay on all the time. you might unplug the engine coolant temp sensor and see if the fans switch off. if they do you have a bad temp sensor, if they don't you probably have a bad relay. they will test either for you at most car parts stores. the relay will be in the underhood power distribution box, it plugs in like a fuse. disconnect the battery negative terminal before you start unplugging things from the power distribution box. hope that helps
Find and remove the cooling fan relay and and replace it with a another relay. If the fan stops working while the vehicle is off replace the relay. It it possible that the relay stayed latched on allowing it to work even though the vehicle is off.
firstly the the fan will stay on for few time(cooling fan). And its not the thermostat climb its the high temperature indication at the intrumental pannel cluster meter if the temperature indication is too high than there will b any problem in ur car related to overheating may b the coolent leakage or the thermostat valve not working properly
Its supposed to,, unless it just stays running,, on newer cars the temp fan will run even with the car off, and can start while the car is parked too, if it runs on and on and sucks the life out of your battery , then a stuck fan switch (usually near the radiator) can cause this problem if the fan stays running a long time
