Pressure in top n bottom rad hoses not really overheating flushed the rad but engine replaced water pump n thermostat n cap temp rising mid range wats the problem help

Sounds like you might have air in the coolant.

take the thermostat out and heat it up in a pan of water to see if it will open when it gets hot.
you should see it open when it gets hot.use a cooking thermometer to watch the temp. it should open between 180 and 225 deg.

Did you burp the air out of the system after changing those parts? It sounds like the thermostat isn't opening which is why the lower hose is still cold. Click my screenname, go to my tips and tricks, and choose the one about burping the cooling system - it may help you out.

Radiator can't handle the load.. Just make sure the fans are pulling air... One way to see if the radiator is at fault is to try turning the heater on high... If the temps stay cooler the radiator has had it. Turning the heater on in emergency is good to know so I hope this helps.

When its cold remove the rad cap, start it up, put your heater blower on full and full heat on, then when the engine gets hot look inside the rad you should see the water flowing. If its not flowing feel the top of the thermostat housing/rad hose it should be nice and hot, it its not your stat is not opening. Are you sure you got the correct temp stat for this car? Was it properly installed and is the system full with no air in it? You can also get a melt stick from your local Napa, making sure its the right temp stick for your car, put it on the stat housing and see if it melts. If it does and you still have no flow either its stuck closed, or its the wrong temp stat.

sound like the impelled in your water pump may have failed. Or your system is air bound. Try to open the rad cap when its cold and let it run and see if air bubbles come to the top

With all the work done I'll assume you've bled the system of all air? You may want to check the shut-off valve in the heater hose. Also, was the thermostat replaced with the same temp thermostat? Just a couple quick thoughts. I hope they help! Good luck!

COULD BE THERMOSTAT IF TOP RADIATOR HOSE IS NOT HOT AND BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE GOING TO WATER PUMP IS HOT THE THERMOSTAT STICKING PARTIALLY CLOSE.IF TOP HOSE IS HOT THE RADIATOR,ENGINE BLOCK HEATER CORE NEED FLUSHING OUT.IF WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE LEAKING REPLACE WATER PUMP, FAULTY WATER PUMP WILL CAUSE ENGINE TO OVER HEAT.REPLACE RADIATOR CAP MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 50 / 50 MIX SOLUTION ANTIFREEZE AND WATER IN COOLANT SYSTEM. Engine keeps overheating


I'd start with replacing thermostat (that's the most common fault) Other possibilities; waterpump,leaky hose, radiator cap (not holding pressure), fan belt broken. I'd inspect for belt & leaks - if good replace thermostat.

1994 Honda Civic LX\overheating within 2 mile drive


Remove and raise upper hose at thermostat end and remove lower rad hose.
Fill rad with a hose and watch for flow from bottom rad hose and/ or bottom rad hose connecton.......water should fall though rad easily.
Honda rads are cheap.....any restriction....replace rad.

Remove thermostat....fill thermostat housing with hose and watch for water flow at bottom rad hose.
Flush good.

Remove heater hoses.......flush back and forth until a good flow is present "With heater control set to hot" if no or poor flow....replace heater core.

Stop leak can plug everything.

Also.......not likely causing over heating....but ....at your mileage,if you do not know if the timing belt has been changed.....CHANGE IT NOW!
Water pump is optional at this mileage.

2002 dodge 1500 still overheating


when your engine is hot,check the temperature of your rad,if you get more than 30/50 degrees difference between the top and the bottom of the rad,you need to have your rad professionaly flushed.If you have a digital laser it will out perform any other temperature testing tool.
