2006 Maxima starts ok when cold. Really hard to

Might be an oil issue. Oil when hot might be too thick for the pump to pump the oil easily in the engine. Check that and if not that come back.

BMW 1988 325 Dashboard orange check light stays on while driving.

The orange light is probably the pads wear indicator showing that the pads are worn out and the cutting out probably you need your car serviced and tune.

Intermitant temperature

Check to make sure your thermostat works right by monitoring the warming up of your engine. With a completely cold engine, start and run the engine for a few minutes, then put your hand on the top radiator hose to monitor if and when it gets warm as the thermostat opens more and more and note the gauge reading( if it works) the top radiator hose should be unbearably hot within 5-8 minutes. If the therm. opens right it should close right aswell, staying open a little while eventhough the radiator may have cooled may be what you are experiencing causing the rapid cooling and is nothing to worry about. The Hose should not get warm very soon after starting the engine. Regarding you gauge, lets take one step at a time, verify proper op. or the therm.

LOW OIL LIGHT

well when oil is cold its thicker
as the vehicle heats up the oil becomes thinner in the oil pan
in which when the vehicle reaches core temp the oil pump doesnt need to work as hard

heres some other areas to look at
bad oil sending unit
in the pan the oil pick up pump filter needs replacement
oil filter clogged
bad oil sensor
vacume leak
these things need to look for and adjust or replace
the oil pick up pump in pan needs to be serviced by service tech at the dealers this is something a do it yourselfer could not do on own with out proper tools
