Not crank mean not start or means the crank shaft if locked.
????
if it cranks, (means crank shaft spins fast in start position)
does it have full compression 150psi.
the if that is ok, next is spark got spark x3
if that is ok and timed right,
then try test fuel , run for 3seconds? now?
IF YES, then its fueling issue.

we dont know what it sounded like before , or now. why not say?

SOURCE: I'm replacing the timing belt

you should have 3 gears that hve a mark on them. line them up with each other, then you need to get a timing light, checker and auto zone rent them, and you loosen the 2 bolts on the distributor not the cap but the whole unit. then turn it as you look at where the light is flashing your crank marker and there is markers on your cover for where it is suppost to be

SOURCE: laging 1994 metro geo that is losing horse power

If your geo is losing power ,first thing to do is a comprision test .
if its testing any thing below 100 psi you may have to replace the piston rings.

you don't have to allign them to any particular place: just mark the belt and pullies with white-out, transfer the markings to the new belt and reallign them. If your timing is good beforehand it will remain the same :-)

Timing belt geo metro 95 hatchback

roll the crankshaft pulley around until u get the mark to line up with 0 or TDC. once u get the cover off mark the cam sproket to the head with whiteout and mark the crank gear to the block also. (in case they move on you. loosen tensioner and pry to one side.tighten tensioner bolt and remove the belt. install new belt and get the slack to move toward the tensioner side. (u may have to move the cam slightly to allow all the slack to go toward the tensioner. then move it back to the mark, making sure the crank didnt move. loosen tensioner bolt and let it spring toward the belt and apply pressure with yr hand a little more snug while u tightn bolt. then rotate the crankshaft 2 revolutions by hand and your marks should line back up. if the marks are more than 1/2 tooth off u must re do it!

Hope you did the timing belt too, or back up and cover that now.
I believe it goes
Inner belt, crank, alternator, water pump, crank
Outer belt, Crank. a/c, tensioner (backside), Crank

To chage the bel on the geo metro

Serpentine belt is one belt that drives all except for the timing.
The timing belt maintians the timimg of the crank shaft and the cam shaft in sink.
A/C is seperate from all

The cam position lines up with a notch in the tin piece that the timing belt cover bolts too.

The crank lines up with a boss located on the front of the block about 1 o clock to the right.

Your timing belt may have jumped ahead when it could have lost some teeth off of the belt. Check belt and replace if needed.
