SOURCE: Head bolt torque specs needed for 96 tbird 3.8

Head bolts are torque to yeild so you MUST use new bolts.
Tighten cylinder head retaining bolts in numerical sequence in three steps as follows:

  1. 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  1. 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  1. 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
Loosen retaining bolts one at a time two to three revolutions and retighten as follows:

Long bolts:
  • Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Short Bolts:
  • Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Here is a pic of the sequence

What is the torque settings for a mitsubishi colt hiline 2.0i cylinder head?

There is no torque value. Commonly, Head bolts are tightened and then removed in sequence as you step threw 3 values: 23/33/45 ft lbs then the final value is achieved by rotating the bolts 90 degrees so the final value is unknown.

You have to get either a hayes manual or follow a procedure online if you are replacing the head gasket. If you are not replacing the gasket do not "re-torque" the head bolts thinking that you can fix a head gasket leak.

Hi. I am assembling a avanza 1.3 that blew head gasket. What are the torque settings for head bolt

I don't have the specs.Evenly go around to all of the head bolts and gradually torque them. 20,40 60 foot pounds.
Depending on the type of gasket you used, you may have to re-torque the bolts after it has gone through one heat cycle.

Geting warter in lifter going to oil pan

Head gasket is not sealing water jacket. Coolant is seeping into the push rod hole down to the lifter. Somthing went wrong with the gasket when setting head onto block. Did you ding the gasket?.OR it's possible you got the wrong gasket. You might just get lucky if you try torquing the head bolts again. Or is it possible one of the bolts did not get torqued? One last thought, any chance the head was warped and you did not get it machined? Either way, if re torquing the head bolts does not fix it, you will have to pull the head, look real close at the gasket, probably will need to get a new gasket, check the head for trueness (flat mating surface),use a quality gasket sealer on both side of it, replace all... Yea, simple right? [Not.] Good luck with it.
