Warning engine light stays on 20013 GMC pick-up

The light stays on after I stop and restart motor. The amp meter goes up and I pull the fuse start the motor without the fuse and it corrects for another month or so. Now the oil pressure is going up the fuse deleting does not help and warning light came on after about 20 miles and stays on.

I would take your truck over to Autozone and have them put a code reader on it... it's free. If you have the Haynes manual, look up the fault codes in the Emission Control section. An engine warning light could be a very serious problem.

It could be your alternator is dying and sending low voltage to to fuel pump on Or you may even have a short in harness. I would get it looked at but in my opinion I would say it's voltage related.

SOURCE: 2000 GMC Sierra cranks wont start

Hello, 9-10 volts is not enough to keep a modern vehicle running. Taking in consideration the age and model of this truck, it could easily be an alternator failure.
I hope this helps.

SOURCE: 03 gmc envoy with 5.3 140000 miles. Oil pressure

There may be a loose wire or the gauge or sending unit may be going bad. The first thing I would do is to hook up a temporary oil pressure gauge, not using the old one at all. With this watch gauge while driving and see what readings you get. If the readings still jump around you have a pump that is getting weak and failing, If that is the case the pump should be replaced, but with high milage you may consider rebuilding the entire engine. If the readings stay normal start checking for a loose wire at gauge or sender. Then check sender, then gauge and replace as needed.

Engine emissions warning comes on with audio sound when initially starting (or switching the ignition on).Goes out after 5/6 seconds The emissions are fine Tried new air mass meter and new glowplugs.

First of all you need to access the Engine Control Module (ECM) using suitable diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC's memored. DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code. Then you will bu full informed about the root cause of the problem, and you will be able to repair & replace bad pieces and reset the ECM. Then the EPC (Electronic Pedal Control) yellow light will turn OFF.

My 02' mdx won't come out of park, keep blowing a 20 amp fuse. This fuse controls the Cruise, break lights, memory seat, horn and linkage. I have to manually delink. I have unhooked the comand...

Here is an idea, when do you blow the fuse key on, key on engine running, key on engine running hitting the break pedal? Try and get the key on without blowing fuse if possible, then one at a time try those circuit loads ie: horn, brake pedal and so on, if you isolate which load is pulling to many amps(blowing fuse) unplug that load itself, then restart testing, see if fuse stays ok. You can also substitue the fuse with a circuit breaker and unplug each load until click(of breaker) stops.

Charging ok new battry wont hold charge 4 more than 2 days

You can start by disconnecting the battery ground cable, connect a 12 volt test lamp between the cable and the battery post, If it lights up you have a short. and you'll need to start pulling fuses one at a time until the test lamp goes out. at that point you will know where to look for short.

Battery goes dead after several days, have tried

Connect the meter, then pull fuses one at a time until the current draw goes away.

You have now isolated the circuit that is the culprit. Troubleshoot that circuit and you'll find what is causing the problem. I would suspect there is a light staying on somewhere (engine light) or possibly ABS pump (if truck has ABS brakes). Maybe dash lights are on all the time.

Let me know what you find, or if you need more help.

01 monte carlo securty & battey light problm

I had the same problem. Also, "service traction system" warning light, "service engine soon", and "trac off" warnings. Audio system locks every time the voltmeter goes flat. I expected an expensive repair bill. On a hunch, I pulled both battery terminals, scrubbed all points of contact vigorously with a wire "toothbrush" and baking soda paste. (They didn't look like they needed it at all) Reconnected, tightened securely, started engine , and everything is back to normal. Zero cost, 10 minutes of your time.
