I have a 1999 mercy grand marque, going to Chang the shocks. It ask if I having touring suspension? How do I tell if I do or not?

Probably the difference of regular shocks and air shocks. Look at the rear shocks, if you see a plastic line running to it, It is air. But you don't have to replace them with air, you can put regular ones on it.

My 2006 Chrysler Sebring touring suspension recently started squeaking after my winter tires were installed.what could be the cause of this?

the tire might be rubbing on the strut assembly but i betting its just cold grease when it gets cold the grease gets thick and the rubber bushings in the suspension get stiff making squeaking noises i would take it to a oil changing place and have them grease the chassis that should help.

1995 bonneville what does the perform ride and touring ride buttons mean

The "perform ride" stiffens the suspension and the "touring ride" loosens the suspension. (bumpy roads & smooth roads)

Dodge stealth have a problem with the suspension.

It sounds like one or more struts is failing or the gforce sensor under the driver seat is the issue. With the engine off and the ignition on, if you switch between tour and sport with the button you should hear all four struts switching between hard and soft. When driving in tour there is a medium setting that is used in different conditions depending on breaking, turning, acceleration and road undulation. Depending on how the dash lights flash can tell you different things but the only real solution is to have a mitsubishi mechanic read the error code on the ECS diagnostic port under the driver dash. www.3si.org has instructions on how to do this and http://stealth316.com/0-frames.htm has trechnical manuals that help.
The ECS has multiple error codes and can tell you which strut or ecs component is at fault. When a problem is detected the ECS switches to hard mode and starts flashing the tour sport lights until the car is turned off.

Repair to my car

Hi,

Your concern is your BMW displays the message "SELFLEVEL SUSP. INACT" which indicates that the car's computer detects a problem with your active suspension system. Self-leveling is standard to most late model BMWs. It works on a pump, an air system and a computer that tells which suspension gets how much height, ride stiffness and other suspension settings.

Your concern is a known issue though not that fairly common. Technically, the best would be to contact your dealer or if in The USA, BMW of North America, LLC. call (800) 831-1117 or email CustomerRelations@bmwusa.com.

You may want to mention a possible problem with the firmware/software of the EHC (Electronic Height Control) Control Module. They may want to recode (flash). It is also possible to have air leaks in the system specially on the suspension bladder.

Other things you can check are tire pressure (30PSI), see if your ride is a bit stiff/hard now compared to before the earning displayed showed up, handling difficulty, loopsided/tilted level among others.

Incidentally, if there is nothing out of the ordinary in how the car ride, handle or drive, it may just be a systems glitch. Try jockeying the key to ON/OFF a couple of times.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
