Question about 1987 Mercury Cougar

1 Answer

Need to locate fuses for power windows and door locks.

Unsure which fuses control the door locks and windows as they just stopped rolling up down and locking/unlocking. Believe this is the cause but the diagram is gone off the fuse box. Thank you!

Without the diagram, you will need to take a 12V dc test light and check BOTH sides of each fuse (IGN ON) and then replace the bad ones with the same size fuse

Power windows and power locks just stopped working. I can't roll down any of the windows or lock the doors from the driver door controls...???

Had same problem when I first bought my Jeep... it was a broken wire in the harness that goes into the drivers door. Too much flexing when opening and closing the door.

make sure than you have not split any fluids on the passenger front door most of the times is where the module to control the windows and doors is located, try by unpluging the batterie and the after a minute plug it back and see what happend but if any of your ft doors have been split with liquid or rain has gone inside then most likelly the module got moisture and not working
