SOURCE: 1998 F250 diesel jut quit while driving down the road.

With a diesel I'd have to look in to the fuel system. I'd check the pump first. I know from personal experience when a fuel pump dies on a fuel injected engine there is no warning... like someone reached over a turned the key off.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

Have you tried checking the catalytic? This is for filtering the gases from the combustion and can be one of causes of the power failure.

SOURCE: 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis hood

take a close look at the male part of your hood latch. should be a heavy spring on it which pops the hood up a bit to allow you to get your fingers in to fully release it. could be missing or bent. You can buy another at a junkyard, most likely any from a full size ford or mercury 95-05 will work. either that or the female release part is stuck and needs some grease.

Why does my 98 grand marquis loses power when in drive not in park or neutral.?

my first thought is the intake is dirty. a can of seafoam in your gas tank will clean that. also check the ground wire on the fuel injector rail.you can find it on the back of the engine close to the fire wall. take it loose and clean it and reinstall. last thought is the throttle po,sensor.

Why do my 93 grand Marquis lose power and cut off when I put the car in drive

Do this service.

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

it could be the brake pads are low so the wear bar is hitting the rotor telling you it's time to replace the pads, or the power steering fluid could be low and the noise is comming from the power steering pump.

I recently replaced my tires and shocks on my 2000 Mercury, Grand Marquis. When driving down the road the car tends to not hold the road very good when hitting a bump in the road. The car only has 71000...

Did you fit the correct shocks? Did you fit them the correct way up? Did you prime them before fitting?

Your fault points to a definite shocks problem first and it's extremely unlikely to be weak springs. The next most likely candidate are one or more suspension bushings.
