1997 Volvo 850 no abs light

The abs light bulb has burned out (just like a regular light bulb). These bulbs can be replaced easily, you just remove the upper portion of the dashboard by removing the retaining screws and then you will see the gauge cluster underneath. The gauge cluster will unclip and unplug and then you can replace the bulbs which are burned out. It is very common for older cars to have dash bulbs burn out.

Dashboard lights are not working

Hi,
There are several parts involving gauges illumination light problem.

  • Check your gauge light fuse first, if it is blown. replace with the same value if you found its blown.

  • The light switch assembly, the internal contacts are either burn or dirty, it will requires a replacement or opening the whole assembly to clean it.

  • Check the rheostat control, its the one that controls the dimming of your panel light, might be broken or burn and disconnected terminal.

  • Check the pilot bulb in your gauges, over the years filament might already busted, needs to take out the whole gauge panel and opening it and replacing the bulb.

Hope that helps you out!
Thanks for using Fixya!

The light bulb under the gas gage is burned out. How do I change it?

Around your dash/gauges, the plastic surrounding should just pull off. it has clips and they are strong, so be careful not to break them. After you pull that off, you should be at the gauge cluster (all the gauges together). Around the cluster, there should be screws holding the cluster in. Removing these will allow you to pull the whole cluster out. Then, on the back behind the fuel gauge, you should find the bulb.

How to replace dash light bulbs

I've done this before. You have to remove the cover for the gauges and speedometer, which is on a sort of a circuit board. The whole thing comes out in one piece, or did on the car I was working on. Then you just locate the burned out bulb, go buy a replacement, replace it and you're good to go, It's easier than you might think.

Change dash bulb 2001 tausus

There are 4 screws on the trim around your instrument cluster trim remove those and the entire cluster of gauges comes out enough to reach around and unhook the wiring harnesses from the back then you can remove the entire cluster. Autozone carries a 10 pack of 3.78 watt bulbs for around $3 best to just replace them all if 1 burned out that means its about time the others will be burning out soon to. I replaced a few of mine that burned out and didn't think to replace them all and sure enough about a month later 2 more burned out. Had to take the whole thing out and do it again this time I replaced all the original bulbs. At autozone the part number for the 10 pack is 194-box or if you are just changing 1 or 2 I think the twin pack part number is 194-l

Lights on gas gauge not lighting on 2006 Honda CR-V. Help! Thanks.

You can replace the instrument cluster bulb with a regular halogen bulb like Sierra said, or use T5 led bulbs that come in a variety of colors (white, blue, etc.) They are inexpensive and will last a lot longer than the regular halogen bulbs.

Replacing the faulty bulbs isn't too hard for DIY.

The fuel and battery gauges are difficult to see when the dash lights are in use at night, yet the rest of the gauges are plainly visible.

sounds like some of the bulbs that are on the back of the cluster are burned out.you will need to remove the spedo housing and replace the bulbs.

1991 Chevy Blazer dashboard lights are burned out. Can't read

Your dash needs to come out. These bulbs push into a plastic piece that "twists" into the back of the dash board. (About a 1/4 turn) Unless you can get at them from underneath, but I think it's to tight.
