My 97 grand prix lost power to the radio and power windows at the same time, i checked the fuses and they are good. Is there a relay somewhere that is not marked power windows?

SOURCE: changes 97 grand prix ignition switch, starts but

I believe you need a Coded Key for your vehicle.. If your original key had a chip underneath the black cover of the key. You may need to get the ignition switch an the key from the Dealer, an once it is installed they will have to Code it.. Goodluck..

SOURCE: 2001 grand prix problems no power to window

The motor it your power windows is no good.If it is all your windows it is something else. But if its`s one or two windows it`s the motor inside the door. You have to remove the door panels to access them. When you take your door panel off you will see the power windows motor.Every window needs its own motor.

1991 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. I need the fuse box diagrams please. I bought the car used and it didn't come with any of the covers.

If all of those are blown, you are in for a whole lot of heartache! Cigarette lighter overloaded, easy fix. Blower motor, probably the resistor, fairly easy fix if you can get to it. Windows, relays, or if only on drivers side, broken wires where door meets frame.

Retained accessory power module on 2000 grand prix, where is it

It's not a module, it's a relay. And it doesn't run the windows or the radio. And both of them are on separate circuits. The radio has a fuse and also has an amplifier which has a fuse also. The windows(all of them) work off a circuit breaker. I have never replaced a circuit breaker in a car. But they can go bad, like everything else. If all the windows quit at the same time, most likely it is a broken power or ground wire. They break in the drivers side door jam. There is a rubber boot between the door and body, this is where they break 99% of the time.

Check all your wireing.Follow the wires from the door up to the fuse box make sure there are no breaks in the wires anywhere it could be that.

I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix gt and the power locks and radio stopped working at the same time when the connection to my battery came loose and the power went of and on while driving, the power seats...

As far as your radio there should be an inline fuse behind it. Check the fuse and see if when the power surged that it blew the fuse. There are also a couple of inline fuses that go from the fuse panel under the hood to the inside of the car, there is a good chance that those are blown too. Pull the window control switch and see if you are getting any power in or out at the connection. If you are getting power in then your switch is more than likely bad. Same thing with your seat, check where the connection goes in and if powere then you have a bad switch. If you are not getting power into the switch then trace your lines under the dash and check the wires.

first off.. think about it. what would the steering column have to do with something that is mounted on the door? i would check for bad grounds (simple and quick explination here).. also a **** load of cars have more than 1 fuse panel. some have 3. i would check make sure you are checking all the fuses if they are good i would start targeting and testing relays. your owners manual should tell you locations of all your fuse panels and tell you which fuses/relays are for what. another possibility for the locks and windows is the cluster on your drivers door.. they can be a pain because everything is ran in series from the drivers door. reason it can be a pain is say for example your windows dont work.. it could be the switch on your drivers door. or each switch on the rest of them (unlikely) on my 97 grand prix i unplugged the back drivers window switch and i couldnt operate any of the windows.
