I tried to remove it n it snapped ...barely touched it...so i have to wait on the part .Will driving the car w/out the sensor connected will this damage or affect anything

Depends on what it should sense. When you were getting a message already, don't assume the sensor was defect, assume it was indicating an error and keep on driving could damage your car.

There are six bolts from the bumper into the rear cross member to remove, accessible from inside the boot. You'll have to remove the rubber plugs to get to two of them. After that, remove the boot lining (that's the "trunk" lining if you're a Yank) and you'll see four bolts (two on each side) that secure the bumper by screwing downwards through the metal wing into the top sides of the bumper. Now go underneath the car, and there are two bolts accessible at the rear of the bumper, accessible from beneath. Now you need to uncrew a pair of 10mm plastic nuts under the wheel arch lining/mudflap and two which are behine the rear wheels. Fold the wheel arch lining away from the bumper and there's a screw in the very front of the sides of the wing right at the point where it connects to the wheel arch. remove these (one on each side) and the bumper will slide backwards and off the body. Voila. Piece of cake. Remember to disconnect the wiring to the rear sensors and pull the multiplug through out of the hole, carefully removing the grommet.

Re-fitting is a bit trickier, so use a couple of beer crates or boxes to hold the bumper up below the rear as you line up the tabs on the air exits and slide the bumper back.

That could be caused by any number of thing's ! Electronic ignition , engine computer , sensors , fuel pump possibly . Don't suspect anything , test and if you don't have tools or knowledge suggest you watch videos on youtube for crank sensor testing . Check engine compartment wiring harness for lose connections , wires that are bare and touching ground . Check for small animal nests , rodents like to chew on wire's . Electronic componets can cause problems like this but the vehicle won't start up again till the componet cools down . 2000 Ford focus. Reading codes P0113, B1600, P0179. It has very little power while driving at times as well. But not always.


Have the IAT circuit checked for any bare wiring or wires touching/grounding out to each other as this could be an intermittent problem that may be corrupting the 5 volt reference signal . This would cause driveability issues .

How do i replace a crankshaf position senor on 2000 trailbazer/chevy


Should be a wiring harness and a one or two bolts holding the sensor right onto the block. Remove negative battery cable, undo wiring harness, take out bolt(s) and remove the sensor. Pull it straight out, do not bend or snap the sensor off inside the motor.. Put the new one in, and bolt up, connect the harness and the battery. Let key sit in "ON" position for about a minute before first start then start and let run for a couple minutes before driving. Good Luck!

I have a 2001 660 raptor and when I'm driving it the reverse light comes on and it cuts out what it making it do this?


i would think this is a wiring fault , there will be a sensor to indicate forward speed and if the vehicle thinks it's in reverse gear ie the reverse lights coming on then ,there is a safety cut off of the engine,i would start at the light cluster wiring and check for good connections to the chassis as this is the earth return , any bare wire that could touch the body and cause a shorrt, if nothing found remove the bulb's and road test if the same thing happens then i would think the safety switch would need attention,take to a dealer as this may be a known fault , keep me posted if you wish

My Sirion 2008 has about 50,000 miles and I was in reverse backing out of my driveway when I went to go forward I noticed I could barely steer the wheel and I saw the red direction on I pulled back forward...


Either a sensor or the motor for your electrically assisted power steering is having an issue. Not something that can be diagnosed without actually touching the car with tools and talking to it's computer.

How to remove the door panel on 1991 mercure cougar. I need to replace window motors.


DOOR TRIM PANEL

1989-92 Models
(see Figure 8 - click over pic for zoom)
  1. Remove window regulator switch housing.
  2. Remove the door inside handle cup (snaps out).

  1. Remove the self tapping screw retaining door trim panel upper front extension assembly, and remove assembly.
  2. Remove the two self tapping screws retaining door trim panel to the door inner panel.
  3. Lift the door trim panel upward and snap out trim panel.
  4. Disconnect the wire harness for courtesy lamp.
To install:
  1. Attach the wiring harness to the courtesy lamp.
  2. Place the door panel into position, then tighten the panel to the inner panel.
  3. Attach the upper front extension assembly.
  4. Snap the door handle cup on the door assembly.
  5. Install the window regulator switch housing.


Electric Window Motor
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Remove the trim panel and watershield.
  2. Remove the speakers.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Disconnect the motor wires and the connector.
  5. Using the dimples located on the inner door panel, drill 3 / 4 in. (19mm) holes for access to the motor.
WARNING When drilling the holes, the glass must be in the up position. The hole saw pilot must not extend more than1/4in. (6mm) beyond the hole saw.
CAUTION Secure the regulator in a vise and drill a5/16in. (8mm) hole through the regulator sector gear and the plate. Install a1/4in. (6mm) bolt and nut in the hole to prevent the sector gear from moving when the motor and drive assembly is removed.
  1. Working through the holes, remove the 3 motor and drive-to-regulator attaching bolts. Remove the motor and drive from the door.
To install:
  1. Clean the chips of metal from the surrounding area. Then coat the bare metal to avoid rust.
  2. When installing the motor and drive to the regulator and install the 3 screws just snugly enough to hold it. Remove the regulator restraining bolt and nut if the old regulator was re-used.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Connect the wires and cycle the glass through its run to ensure gear engagement. Then, tighten the attaching screws to 50-85 inch lbs. (6-10 Nm).
  5. Install the speakers and door trim panel with watershield.

How do you remove the cover to get to the coil packs on a 2004 Cadillac CTS?


You must remove the upper intake manifold, the upper intake is what the flexible air hose from the air cleaner connects to on the engine, the plastic trim covers over the the upper intake just snap off and on, it is a ball socket snap, carefully pull up at the corners of the plastic engine trim covers, and the bare aluminum upper intake is under that, there is no coil pack, each cylinder has its individual own coil over the spark plug, suggest you replace the plugs while all this is apart.

I have an 96 olds aurora and its barely running and sounds like there is a spark plug misfire. In the morning its hard to start but it run and then quits. sometimes I can get it to drive but after it drops...


if you are getting a miss fire or arc and losing most of your spark you can check this by waiting until its either dark out or in a dark garage . better to do it at night . get a spray bottle - fill it with water and go to your car . while the engine is running ( get a freind to help if the car wont stay running on its own . have him or her push the gas peddle just enough to keep the car running at idle speed ) you take the spray bottle and spray over the plug wires , valve covers, manifolds . turn out any flashlights and look for a blue spark. or blue flash. make sure everything that the plug wires are touching is wet. if you see flashes and or here snapping sounds then there is your answere. you have a bad plug wire or wires. if that fails to answere your problem check the coil. it depends on how bad the coil is but it can range from starting and running in drive and neutral ,but will die or run very rough when put in gear.
