Dos the vent hose on the transmission E40D Go to anything

vent hoses allow pressure build up to escape and so the seals do not leak. Check with a transmission shop as the metal tube may be the end of a vacuum hose

vent from trans comes out of trans on the passenger side of the is located about 1/3 the way back on top of the trans.a rubber hose will be attached and usually connects with the transfer case vent hose.If the trans overheated chances are there is a problem with the transmission.if the fluid smells burnt you have bigger issues.

Transmission oil coming out the funnel

If you mean it is coming out of the fill/dipstick tube, then quit driving this car. You will trash the transmission, if it hasn't already happened. Usually when this happens the transmission cooler inside the radiator has busted, and is pumping coolant into the transmission. Then again I have seen some people just overfill it to the extreme. But either way it needs to be checked. This involves dropping the transmission oil pan.

I have a 2000 ford taurus with Transmission Fluid coming out of the dip stick. can i fix this myself or do i have to take it in?

There is a transmission vent tube on top of the transmission, & when the vent tube sticks shut, it causes trans fluid to come out of the dipstick (path of least resistance), and/or, the trans pan gasket. This is a common issue w/ the 2000 Taurus. To resolve puncture the trans vent tube.
