Before I replaced the balance shaft assembly chain on my 2004, the marks on the chain weren't lined up with the marks on the sprocket. When I installed the new chain, I just lined up the marks. (Had to rotate balance shaft independent of crankshaft to do this) Wasn't any noticeable vibration before or after, not really sure why the marks weren't lined up before.
Hope this helps.

If it aftermarket(bunch of wires and modules under the dash on the drivers side) remove it. If it is still factory it takes a scanner.

I cant find the oil pump on a 2006 Nissan Altima

On both the four cylinder and six cylinder engines the oil pump runs off the crank shaft. The front cover and timing chain needs to removed in order to replace or repair the oil pump. It is not a very common repair. Is there a reason you are looking for it?

I have a 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5SL. It has a strong vibration around 1800RPM. I have had the all motor and transmission mounts checked, transaxle assembly and the transmission replaced (under warranty) with...

the book shows it as a v9 3.5 l with a chain drive years 2002-2012
there is also an altima 2.4 l 1993-2001 another chain driven engine
both have balance shafts
If the chain has been replaced lately , it could be an improperly fitment of the balance shaft
If not I suspect that it could be a worn chain that needs replacing and the vibration is coming from lack of chain tension
the book does not show ant belt driven engines with a balance shaft
at this point I would take it to an accredited professional service center with experience on your engine and have a proper diagnosis done and quote
a new engine is the last thing I would be talking about

CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR 20002 NISSAN ALTIMA

1st, Nissan had a recall on Crank position sensors for 2002-2006 Altima's. Check with you dealer before you go doing any repairs. You may discover you can get your car repaired at no charge.
NHTSA Campaign ID number :O7V527000
Symptom: Erratic behavior. Stalling and no starts and very difficult to diagnose due to the time frame in which the component actually malfunctions. The warranty should not be limited to the original owner.
I would also need more specifics as to which engine you have so I might assist you in where the location of the sensor is. The Altima had a 4 and a 6 cyl engine offered that year.
