SOURCE: my 2003 Kia Sorento shifts slow what does that mean

Hello
The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type.

SOURCE: brake and battery warning lights on a KIa sorento

I have a 2009 kia sorento, that had the brake and battery light come on at the same time. It turned out to be my key ring was to heavy. I took off my excess keys and had a new key made. The light has stayed off so far. I may need to put in a new key switch in the future, but for now it fixed it. :)

2011 KIA Sorrento 2.4 were is the fuel pressure regulator located. put on adjustable fuel reg .need to disconnect stock one

fuel pressure regulators are normally located in the fuel manifold. They are either vacuum controlled or electronic controlled to maintain the right fuel pressure for engine requirements and to shut off the fuel pump when the ignition is turned off
If your manually adjusted unit will not do all that then you are asking for fault codes to appear and all sorts of problems to occur

2003 kia sorento air con. Just got it air was cool but not cool and then it went warm what does this mean?

Low on freon. A parts store will charge it for you. Get a small can $12 with die in it. If it still goes low, you can find the leak with a neon light.

IP Brake light has come on in my 2004 Kia Sorento.. what does this mean?

Kia Sorento parking brake or brake fluid dash warning light - this light is illuminated when the park brake is applied, the warning light should go out when the parking brake is released. If the light does not go out it indicates that the brake fluid level in the reservoir is low and you need to pull over and top up at your first opportunity.

1-check parking brakes not applied
2-check brake fluid
3-if it is too low have the brakes checked they might be wearing out it doesn't mean you have a leak but when the brakes wear out the become thin causing the caliber piston to push out more lowering the oil level in the reservoir

Alternator p1631

Four digit codes are brand specific, for Kia the code means the main circuit for the alternator is open, or it is not charging the battery.

Hi,

The sorento clock, along with many other import vehicles of this era, have notorious issues with poorly designed circuit boards in the clock module. We fix these on a routine basis, check out the website, we have lots of info there and would be happy to help you out, thanks!
