How do i bleed the fuel system had ago got it running for about a minute then cut out

Hi Dave:
Usually with a gas engine if it runs a bit it will keep going. Try priming it again and see what happens.
With diesel you need to back off the nuts connecting the lines leading to the injectors. Then have someone spin the engine over until fuel start to show. Snug 'em up and should run.

Accidentally put unleaded fuel instead of diesel in 2013 D22 drove approx 10k


Drain the fuel out and flush the fuel lines and the filter. Failure to purge the unleaded fuel from the system can destroy the engine due to severe pre ignition.

2003 F150 cold starts good if cut off will start good but if sits 20 minutes has to turn over several times before it starts


Possible fuel pressure bleeding off, either back into tank,or injectors not sealing when off. I would run a fuel injection service first then if still happend put mechanical fuel pressure gauge on it and observe pressure over a 20 minute heatsoak

I have a Kubota B2710 that acts like it's starving for fuel and after about 30 seconds of that it clears up or you can cut it off and and restart it and it runs fine for about a minute before it starts...


check if cold start valve or sensor not malfunctioning,choke unit set to rich. negative valve clearance normally creates a similar problem.Importantly engine management wires should be checked including efficiency of spark.

If there is a long crank that is a typical sigh of fuel preasure bleeding down, the first thing I would do is look at the fuel delivery system. With a fuel pressure gauge hook up monitor the pressure and see if it bleeds down after the vehicle has been shut down. Take a look the regulator by removing the vacuum hose while running and see if you see any signs of fuel coming out of the regulator, does not always happen right away may need to run for a few minutes

Why is diesel not getting to injectors


Did you run it out of fuel? If so you may need to bleed the fuel system. It could also be the fuel filter or a weak fuel pump

I turn ignition to ready position. The fuel pump engages and prime's the line. I then start the engine. Engine starts and runs for a max of 15 seconds. As soon as the engine cuts out the fuel pump...


The crank sensor is a good candidate. Pretty common failure on jeeps.
To clarify, the fuel pump is on all time during engine cranking, and during engine running. When the engine cuts off, the pump will also be stopped. But, you will not lose pressure in the fuel lines and fuel rail immediately. The check valve in the pump is supposed to hold fuel pressure in the system for a good time-about 20 minutes. The pressure should bleed off very slowly.

Your fuel pump and fuel system is probably good, but if you really lose prime (or pressure) that quickly, then there is a problem. Best way to check is with a fuel pressure gauge after the engine cuts out. Or, if you have the test port schraeder valve on the fuel rail (looks like a tire valve), you can use a screwdriver to press the center of the valve. If gas squirts out, you do have fuel pressure, prime is not lost, fuel system is good, and you can assume problem is in the ignition circuit, not a fuel problem. Probably the crank position sensor.

Car wont start after running low on fuel


If it actually ran out of fuel to the point where it stalled then it's because it got air in the fuel system. Bleeding the fuel system will fix it but is dependent on the year and model if you can. tho many new ones will bleed on their own with continued cranking. When it catches holding the throttle down 25-50% for a few minutes will help it bleed.

Ran out of fuel, need to bleed fuel system and prime on a 1995f250 7.3liter turbo diesel


First GET A FIRE EXTINGUISHER
This can be a very tough thing to do and especially if you're by yourself.
You do not mention if the vehicle is now running? If the vehicle isn't running you will need to have a fully charged battery. With a charged battery turn the key one and open the fuel rail pressure release valve which you will allow to flow for about 4 -5 seconds with fuel. If you get some fuel mixed with air coming from the bleeder valve it is what you should get.

If you get only air with the fuel pump running then allow it to 'bleed' air until you get fuel. Once you get a fairly steady stream of fuel shut off the valve and attempt to start the vehicle. Once the vehicle starts you will want to bleed the fuel after a few minutes.

I want to have you try starter fluid CAREFULLY first as most smaller vehicles will recover from running out of fuel without having to bleed the air out. They will many times resolve the problem from just running about 20 minutes or so. Please consult your handbook before attempting this.
AGAIN - It is BEST to have two people just in case of fire. A GOOD fire extinguisher is best.

Fuel problem on diesel truck


Hi.,
I guess your truck is getting air in the fuel system.
When you bleeding, work a few minutes until get more air.
The fuel filter on a GMC or Chevy diesel.
Need to be positioned the element and the gasket.
I Recomend put a New filter But. I recomend get the filter original A/C delco.
I had involved in a same problem. due a aftermarket fuel filters.
